X and Z are already used, same as Black so uh let;s just use X again, it seems to be teh coolest anyway and Titan P sounds too...phallic?

TITAN X will be available Aug. 2 for $1,200 direct from nvidia.com in North America and Europe, and select system builders. It is coming soon to Asia.

With the specs, you can already decipher on what the 1080Ti would become (and maybe still "weak" at async compute :V)

I get that AMD want to sell me a GTX 980 with less performance per watt, but this is just cruel.

Same. Vega could have 4096 cores like Fury X and 16 GiB of HBM2 is a given. Fury X allegedly has 8 Tflops compared to Titan X's 11 Tflops. I think AMD should be able to squeeze out at least 4 extra Tflops just by increasing the clockspeed.

One problem though: Vega ain't coming for quite a while yet.

Vega will be the first card to ship with HBM2. AMD, by investing in HBM, gets first dibs on stock. That pretty much guarantees NVIDIA won't get stock first. NVIDIA has to use GDDR5X until Vega launches.

And it should be common knowledge that blower fans on graphics cards suck. Why does AMD and NVIDIA keep using them?

The thing doesn't need HBM2. Maybe they'll make a revision called Titan XP HBM2. Or Titan XP CBA.

Either way, interested to see reviews... Wonder how few sites will get one.

It is not the same name

the old series Titan X was Labeled GTX Titan X the new Titan X is only labeled Titan X, so Absolutely no confusion

Caring1: can you find a game that uses more that 12GB Vmem? the higest i have seen so far is GTA5 with all on MAX and AA on using 6.5GB

If Nvidia aims for simplicity, why wouldn't they simply call it Titan.
Calling it Titan X kind of implies they have a Titan non-X as well.
