Vowing that Metro 2033 "will boast the most advanced DX11 techniques yet seen," publisher THQ has issued several new DirectX 11-enabled PC screenshots of 4A's post-apocalyptic shooter as proof of its bold claim.
"Gamers with DX11 cards will experience advanced Depth of Field effects as well as Full Tessellation on character models," said THQ of the PC release, which hits alongside the Xbox 360 version come March 16 in North America and March 19 for Europe.
Graphics hardware maker NVIDIA also chimed in, claiming that "the 4A Engine is one of the most advanced game engines we've ever worked with, and with DX11 enabled, Metro 2033 is undoubtedly one of the best looking PC games of 2010" while noting that the game will pack also include support for NVIDIA 3D Vision and PhysX hardware.
