It is on consoles? I hope that doesn't mean they will cave like Crysis and dumb down the graphics to make it playable on consoles, and at the same time cripple the graphics on PC. The insane eye candy was what helped make Metro so good.

Yerp - it's supposed to also be available on xBox and PS3.

But, considering the love and attention 4A gave to the PC version of 2033, as compared to the xBox (and the fact that they're blatantly statting this new installment will be tailored towards the PC), I don't think we have much to worry about.

I'm kinda worried about the MP - but I've heard that it was actually a feature they've been working on since 2033's development, but nixed for technical reasons. As it stands, supposedly 4A have been keen on listening to the complaints fans had with 2033, and they've focused heavily on fixing those concerns . . .

. . . but, we al know how these "rumors" tend to go in the game market

Either way, I'll defi be looking forward to it - I don't care how linear the game is, the story, visuals, setting, etc. 2033 was such a breath of fresh air amidst a multitude of titles in a rather stagnant genre, I expect this title to be a nice break from the monotony again.

Of course if you run it at 1280x1024, a 4850 can handle it...BUT...

In order to run all the eye candy at 1080p res, ummmm....yes you do! It is more demanding than Crysis if you didn't know that

just keep the AA set to AAA and DX11 depth of field off. and 2x 6850s can max the rest of it.

otherwise for AAA + depth of field you need around 1300mb of vram adding regular AA = 1500-1600mb of vram. and at that point you need 2x 480 2x 580s or 2x 6950 / 6970s to max it even then youll only get around 45-55 with those settings.

As crazy says, it's a matter of taking it into consideration to keep Tess and DoF disabled, AA on adaptive (AAA) and on normal the game doesn't look that bad at all. Okay, maybe some textures are not so detailed compared to, say, FC2 on VH (didn't play Crysis) but most of the time the game is pretty dark so it does not matter much whether you play on normal or high.

**Metro 2033 SPOILER ALERT**

Back in the day, WWII, the Russians beat the Germans if my memory serves me well. In Metro 2033, I guess they went back to history and had the same kind of squabbles which made them fight each other in the first place. There's a chapter in the game where you have to go through the German army underground to get where your supposed to go. I guess that video ties in and correlates with Last Light somehow. I don't know.

BTW, I find it weird to mix German and English when refering to Nazi Germany. Better call it either Drittes Reich or Third Empire. Or just "Nazi Germany" of course.

Metro 2033, including Last Light, is about post-apocalyptic Moscow. Hence the Russian (in addition to the fact that the games are made by an Eastern European team).

It's seriously worth picking up the first if you can find it for cheap. It's usually reduced in the Steam sales.

Steam? Shouldn't matter since I can buy it for nearly $11 USD from Amazon and actually own a retail copy instead of just a download. Sorry I love wasting shelf space with actual games instead of a 1TB HDD full of Steam crap.

Don't get me wrong, I was suggesting Steam as it's usually next to free when on sale. In regards to the retail copy, it doesn't matter as it's a Steamworks game so it'll force you to have/use Steam anyroad.

Make sure you simply keep following Bourbon (that guy you're with). Enable subtitles if you have difficulties catching what characters say to Artyom (in order to keep it clear what you are supposed to do).

After leaving the station, follow Bourbon until you fall in that gap. Climb out of it and enter the building opposite to Market station. It is easy afterwards, though there is a chance to find a hideout via a hole in the elevator (which makes it kind of a detour).

Or do you mean the moment after that, when you are alone and need to avoid the Demons (or Bitches, as Bourbon calls them)? In that case you should hide in the metro-entrance resembling stairways you'll see. One of them contains a dead body, giving you stuff and marking the point were you should start following a pathway marked by wood planks lying on the ground and over gaps.

Check play-through videos if necessary.
