Metro series: timeline of events in-game, in the novels and game development

One of the series I've never payed much attention too, I'm ashamed to admit... Perhaps it's the result of how I deem most modern FPSs to be CoD clones (and I'm really not a fan of CoD), though I do love the new Dooms. I really should give Metro a fair chance

Metro definitely reminds me of STALKER but it's not really open world like STALKER at all and the QTE and long monologues are something you never saw in STALKER.

Definitely. The series is more like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. imo if you have played any of those.
I'm not very familiar with STALKER, but the trailer looks a lot like Metro, though a lot more horror-oriented? Pretty cool nonetheless. Still, so little time so many good games to try...

4games, developers of the Metro series, came from GSC games who developed the Stalker Series hence the similarities.

metro exodus complete is free to add to your steam library until may 25th. no better time to try than now. i wouldn't worry about the story too much. maybe just watch a 5-10 minute summar of metro 2033 on youtube. then go enjoy exodus, which is much more polished.

i beat exodus on launch, its a cool game.
