I currently have the ASUS Maximus V Gene Z77, and I'm looking to buy two new 680's to SLI. Any good recommendations? I'm concerned with air flow in between the two cards but i have plenty of air going to them, have the NZXT Switch 810 case.

I'd recommend you to wait for the GTX 690, which in theory should be double GK104, if you really want a double GPU on that motherboard because the top card will probably be air starved, which isn't so bad on the short run but it might give you overheating problems on the long run.

Another option is to watercool them so you'd have no problem there other than the initial cost.

It all depends on how many components you want to cool aka how many blocks will be in the loop, if you want to do CPU + dual GTX 680 I'd strongly recommend to go with a 120x3 and 120x2 radiator but then you'd need a moderately big case.
The pump choice is easy, a Laing D5 Vario (swiftech MCP655/ koolance PMP-450) with an aftermarket top can easily take 2 radiators and 3 blocks.
Forget about motherboard vrm and chipset cooling, it's not worth it imo.

Could you kindly fill your system specs? It would be easier to help you :)

Also welcome to TPU. :toast:

Also if possible edit your posts before double posting, thanks!

Oh well there isn't much doubt about that, anyway it all depends on how Nvidia manages to get the dual GK104 on the same PCB, if the VRM circuitry is strong then the card could well manage the same clocks as the 680 but they probably won't to keep the TDP in check.

I figured the further apart they are the better. The Riser Cable thing is about 7.5 inches.

Keep in mind the sli cable will dictate how far apart you can place them, so I would look for a longer than standard one

You might be better off with a flexible one otherwise it will restrict where you can place the 2nd card though something that length should be fine

I'm just looking for the longest 2-Way SLI bridge compatible, SLI Bridge. The 4-Way would be bit bigger than the 3-Way long 2-Way Flex bridge.

if your going to wc them no need for a pcie extender even with stock coolers the top card is like 10-15c hotter

ive ran two 580 lightings on my z68 gene-z and had no over heating ;)

Then don't buy reference, just go with an aftermarket 2 slot solutions, the top one will be much warmer.
I don't think PCI-e riser is a good idea though.
