i got vista and put it on my laptop 2 am thursday .. before 2 p, the same day it bluescreened. Under XP that laptop never bluesreened once, eerything takes 3 times as long, its jsut a piee of guano designed to make money, not for the ustomer, mircosoft should know by no that the main reason the have marketshare other than the fact that oem's push windows is familiarty. put the average sheep computer user ina new environment they will freak. and that is a whole different thign from the rud of an os it is. file copies take so damn long. windows update is hit and miss, and when you do hit its like matrix, slow motion and drama filled. dont tell me i dont know about vista, i know all about it and there aint nutten good bout it, only thing is the damn airy glass. and that aint anything new.

I think this speaks for it self;

Packaged versions of Windows Vista sold at stores and on the Web account for less than 10 percent of all licenses of the dominant Windows operating system that sits on more than 90 percent of the world's personal computers.

What were the specs of the lappy? Vista worked fine for me, even on my X2 3800+ and X1800XT rig. Never had any problems. I had one BSOD issue, and that was a bad driver from ATI. Rolled it back, and all was fine.

Now, on my lappy, it is slow, so I'll give you that, but don't preach that Vista is crap, when you've only tried it on one machine. Try it on a more powerful rig, and it runs like a dream.

Well said Wile E.
So many people just write off Vista as a POS when indeed it is not. Heck I run it on my lappy and have had zero problems that I didnt cause by myself.
Of course if you put Vista in the same computer that you have run say Windows 2000 which you then upgraded to XP and then tried to upgrade it to Vista, your going to have an extremely slow OS, thats just the way the OS works get used to it. Or you can always wait for Windows next OS Windows 8.00 or 7.00 (formerly codemnamed Vienna), Which supposedly Microsoft is trying hard to make its kernal vastly smaller, and thus more faster.

Same thing happens with linux, some people are lucky and have no conflicts while others have to do it the hard way.

The funny thing is that an XP Home Upgrade at Wal-Mart still costs $99 and XP PRo full costs almost $200... I think those prices alone reflect the better OS, lol. XP PWNS Vista!

entrino duo 1.6 .. 1gb ram ... 80 gb hdd .. the weakest part of the pc is the video, intel.everything else scores 4.5-4.7. No virii were present no "warez" so explain to me how a fresh format BSOD's in under 12 hrs? Thats not stable code to me. Shoulda gie Vista the ME treatment, "NOT FOR ME".

Obviously you probably uploaded some program onto the computer that almost noone else uses then.
hence the lack of Support from Vista. They cant keep supporting every program thats been released since 1995, and after. It gets rather hard to support everything whixh in turn really causes the OS to become extremely bloated

I've seen Vista in action on two completely different rigs and I have to agree with this - but I still don't intend to install it on mine until SP1 is officially released; even still, the audio issues are kinda holding me back . . .

although, we're nearing the point that Creative will be releasing another set of drivers, and I think we might see a new soundcard lineup from them sometime this year . . .

Vista doesn't BSOD for no reason. You had a bad driver, plain and simple.
