Yall gotta remember that equipment has to be able to withstand great amts of stress aswell.

most defi - and GETAC really develops some superior products as well.

I'd like to purchase one, as I'll have a need for it within the shop within the next couple of years. Car manufacturers have been placing all their vehicle service information onto CDs instead of printing 15 paper books for 1 year, make and model. PLus, with newer cars going towards CAN OBD systems, you need a scanner that can keep up with the car's computers - a laptop is the only tool that can keep those speeds and act like a scanner. TBH, GETAC is probably the only brand I would trust to stand up to a mechanic shop work environment.

Back in 2006 it wasn't outdated. The military had a 3 year cycle of replacing computers to keep them under warranty. Every year the 88MDG that I was assigned to would get 900-1000 new computers to rollout. We'd replace systems that weren't under warranty first. There hadn't been any PIII systems (GX110) since about 2004.

Just speaking from experience though so don't take offense.
