Castor is the newest IR LED gaming mouse in Mionix's line-up. It uses the same sensor as on the Avior and Naos 7000, but it has been upgraded to support 10000 DPI. The ergonomics are brand-new for this mouse as it is a medium-sized, right-handed-only model.

Mine Mionix Avior is the worst mouse I have ever tried. I doesn't work anywhere except completely black or dark brown surfaces.

I am not sure if it is only mine mouse problem or this is what you called "Color-sensitive sensor". If it is this "sensitivity" so these mouses really suck because 5€ mouses have 10 times better surface support

I guess I am the only one that thinks this way, but I won't use a mouse whose wheel can't be pushed sideways.

I think this mouse is not really designed for small hands but for fingertip/claw grip with just adequate palm support ala Coolermaster Recon/Xornet/Spawn.
I'd like to try if not for the somewhat expensive price.

Can you make a review for those cheap gaming mice ? , they might be good and cheaper and that will make them very good alternative ... recently I resurrected two logitech G500 and G500s using Omron Japan clicks as I didn't like to buy $70-$80 mouse that stop working after a year.

With the Mionix you can adjust the lift-off-distance setting that will allow it to work with a wide variety of colors, but the performance varies a lot. Haven't had any problems everything right up to light grey surfaces. This is the cost for getting the best sensor performance on the market. I would rather have a black mat than have to use a mouse with positive acceleration. The color sensitivity is the same for all IR LED mice with Avago sensors.
