Monitor Cable

Greetings all.

My first time posting here. So, please take it easy on me :)

My brother just dropped of a Thermaltake tower I think it says 300 series. At the front top of the box, it says Cooler Master.

His directive to me is to install Windows 10 on this tower.

I understand it is a gaming machine from everything I read.

I have two questions that I hope some of you guys could help me with.

Does work on a regular PC monitor?

I tried using the monitor and the monitor cable that I connect my PC with but the tower does not appear to recognize this monitor,

I tried using my HDMI cable that I connect my TV to my receiver box but again, the tower did not recognize it.

So what is the correct monitor cable that I can buy to connect to my PC monitor?

Second, can I install Windows 10 on this tower?

It doesn't have CD/DVD media which means that I either have to get an external drive or use USB thumb drive to install the windows.

Everything on it appears to be working. I can power it on and it comes on,

Please forgive if these questions are too elementary. I work on PCs but have not worked on any Thermaltake tower before.

I also tried searching these forums but at the risk of purchasing the wrong accessory, I thought it is wise to ask experts like you guys.

Many thanks in advance

/sim

We need a lot more details than what the case says.

Actual system specifications are needed.

Why would type of display matter? Does it have an HDMI out and does your monitor or TV have HDMI in?

Does it show any kind of life? Mate you gave us an opened box and said "figure it out."

First of all, thanks a lot for your prompt response.

Ordinarily, any display would suffice as long as you have the correct cable but as stated in my original post, I do not how different this box is from regular PC boxes.

Maybe no difference, I don't know. That's what I am hoping to find out.

There is a an HDMI port. It doesn't say in or out.

Yes, the TV has an HDMI port that I plug my HDMI cable into and the other side to my receiver box.

You asked:

Does it show any kind of life?

I did state that once you power the box on, it works as everything starts up normally.

Mate you gave us an opened box and said "figure it out."

My apologies for that. I am having to provide more clarity that you may need.

I tried to provide whatever information that I can find from the box.

Thanks again,

Try different outputs if able, and different cables. If it's a picky one like one of mine it'll only show display on one output. Also having at least a keyboard in helps.

I tried DVI cable but it didn't work and of course the only HDMI cable that I removed from my TV which didn't work.

Keyboard and mouse are connected to the Thermaltake box and they are easily recognized.

I am going to one of these electronic stores tomorrow. I was hoping to get as much info about this box as possible so that whatever accessories I purchase tomorrow will not be returned because I got the wrong one.

Just to make sure, does the board have display out or no? Where are all the display out connections? Pictures if able would help of connections and insides.

Just by looking at how bare that IO is, the whole thing might be worth more gutted.. let's hope it's got something decent in there.

Try the HDMI port on the video card (looks to be the left most in your photo)

YEA!!!

It came on!!!!!

You are the man. Thank you so much. I swear I didn't know there was another HDMI port there till you pointed it out.

Thank you so much

How do I close this out to give you the credit you deserve?

I was trying the one I highlighted in red

At this point, I am more comfortable telling my brother it is not worth it. It does have windows7 in it but doesn't appear to have any drivers but that's something I can figure out.
