... and it's also done it while playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I'm just taking a guess and thinking it might be something to do with the temperature of the GPU? It's only recently started doing this only last week. o_O

At the start of the game, or during the middle? Could be GPU temps -- should monitor them during gameplay and report back.

Highest I've seen is 63c during the middle of gameplay.

San Andreas? Isn't that a pretty old game?

Sounds like driver issues to me. Or maybe GPU got the idea of "Once you go black, you never go back" sort of stuff.

Well there is a newer driver available for the card so I will update the driver now as you mentioned driver issues. :clap:

If you use that GTX 580 in your system specs, maybe rather older driver ... you should look up which is the last driver series with fermi optimizations
