All the naysayers can suck on that, Dukes back baby!
Yay, four years and eight games from now maybe the yaysayers can suck it to.
Just because "more is coming" doesn't mean it'll be any good.
more duke? hell yea!
Lets hope so, I'm enjoying DNF as are most people I know.
See above comment. DNF was a game in production for 14 years, redone numerous times. Given to a good dev, like gearbox hopefully they can crank out something great instead of having to redo the game so many times.
indeed... they probably decided to go ahead an release what they had while working an a more polish sequel, and maybe some DLC of sorts? (hopefully)
I wonder how much Duke Nukem Take-Two has to sell to break even after buying this IP lol
so we will get the stuff that was cut from DNF ? , but we will have to pay for it lol
The cult classic is here to stay, baby.
Stuff that was cut when? 10 years ago? 8 years ago? 5 years ago? It's an old game, doubtful you would see any of that content.
you know Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary edition has a toggle mapped to the controller that seamlessly loads the original Halo: Combat Evolved architecture and textures in real time so you can compare the old with the new.
Gearbox should of added this feature to Duke Nukem Forever so you could see what the game looked like in 1999-2005-2011
That would be pretty sweet, but I bet it would imagine how much they really had done before.
I guess they found a new milking cow... First nothing for more than a decade and then they plan series of games based on this franchise. Mhm...
Shitty Scary Movie(s) and [whatever] Movie anyone?
Yup this, a thousand times this. I can see it now. CoD: DN Edition.
Okay so a person pays $50 for the game and 5 DLC's later you have a so-so game and have spent $100?
LOLOL yea okay
I'd buy that
One of the reasons why i haven't jumped the Duke bandwagon just because it's Duke. They got it on market just because they wanted to raise some cash with it. Nothing else.
Raise what cash? This game spent 14 years in development, they could have just ended it and cut their loses. They knew it wouldn't get high reviews, this was a release simply for all of the Duke fans who have been waiting, and for all of the naysayers who said it would never happen. I highly doubt this game will turn a profit after sitting in development for so long.
Every game is out there to raise cash, if you think otherwise, you are crazy.
Duke Nukem Forever has sold 70,000 on XBOX 360. 60,000 on PS3 and 30,000 on PC.
I think the smart move is for Take-Two to develop mobile games under the Duke Nukem name and sell them until they can't squeeze another buck then bury the IP.
That means DNF has pulled in 8+ million as it sits and its been out about 2 weeks. Multi-platform releases on average take 20 - 30 million to produce, and single platform about 8 - 10 million. Granted DNF probably didn't take as much to make as it was an older game, so they might be breaking even, breaking even on an old game. I don't understand the issue with some more Duke, almost every single game on the market now is sequels, and a lot of that crap is the same. Duke is different, I really enjoyed Bad Company 1 for the humor, I like playing FPS's and laughing, all of them are so dead serious now, or scary (Dead Space / FEAR), it's refreshing to kick ass and have fun.
I think the smart move is to not be constructive at all to the thread, or to all of the other threads about Duke and keep posting about how you don't like it. We got the point the 1st time.
Where are you seeing these numbers?
and yet... those numbers dont include steam sales do they as oh yea steam dosent give out that info lolz.
im willing to be the PC version sold more then either console individiually.
Do you really think they were seriously and fully developing it for 14 years and then selling it for what, 50 EUR ? Right. And programmers on it were living out of thin air? Or even better, if they were developing it for so long it would be the best game on the planet with a price tag of 100 EUR. But its not and the game is nothing else than just mediocre.
