Wireless mouse turns on computer when you click the button.

Is this a bug or something I've accidentally turned on in the bios? I have a P5w dh deluxe from Asus, and whenever I pickup my wireless mouse and click on it, the computer will boot up lol

Did I wire something wrong? Does this sound familiar? I have a feeling it's not mouse specific, but usb specific.

Is the BIOS set to "Wake on Kbd/Mouse" or something like that?

If you solve this, I want to know what happened because I'd love to press the mouse to power up my pc. Pretty cool and awesome. :rockout:

(Btw, you're sure you aren't waking up the pc from sleep mode are you?)

your motherboard will only do it with ps/2 mice, it's in the 'APM configuration' in your bios

4-27 in the instruction manual

My cat turns mine on when he walks over the keyboard. Actually I think he looks at cat porn.

In the device manager under Mice driver you can open properties and uncheck "Allow this device to wake the computer" power management tab. If you dont want this option (Not in the BIOS)

lol@cat porn. so hot

Yeah the computer is completely powered off when it gets turned on by a mouse click. In some ways, it's really cool.

The issue, however, is that something else is getting it to start while I sleep or am away at work. I don't want to have to cut the power at the psu everytime im done with it.

I think it's just a hardware bug. This p5w dh deluxe is getting old. I was hoping that yall would recognize this right away LOL.

Thanks for your time, guys. Appreciate it. I'll check back for any new ideas anyone might have.
