Is it bad to use a mouse without a mouse pad? I have Logitech G5 mouse, and I was using it without a mouse pad but I figured out that my computer table has a smooth surface and more space to work with. The G5 glides well too as it has Polytetrafluoroethylene feet as well, so it's smooth.

So is it ok without a mouse pad?

Yeah, it realy doesn't matter as long as you keep it clean.

Sure! I'd say if its smooth, why not! I use my desk.

Mouse pads aren't truly necessary, in the ball mouse days the ball needed something to "grip" on, but laser/optical mice don't need "grippage", so as long as there is some contrast to the surface (eg. not glass or whatever), you should be good to go! :)

I've been using my desk as a mousepad for years. It's great.
May want to buy a mousepad for games later on though.. for better gliding.
