Mozilla Firefox appears to have lost some momentum. In January, 13.7 percent of all internet users browsed using Firefox, down from 14% in December. In contrast, Apple's Safari is gaining market usage. In January, 4.7% of all browser users used Safari, up from 4.2% in December. This is most likely due to more people using Mac OS X, which could be caused by all sorts of things (creative advertising, Core 2 Duo based iMacs, etc). Microsoft's Internet Explorer still accounts for 79.8% of all internet browser use.

wow, there are a lot of noobs digging themselves into holes by purchasing macs these days. Honestly ther are only two reasons I see that makes a Mac a necessary purchase: if you want to use Final Cut Pro HD, or you're a total noob who only wants to use iPhoto and iMovie. IMO safari is the worst browser on the face of the earth.

Macs are for the Narrow fielded 1337, or they are for the absolute total noob. If you're anywhere in between, you'll regret owning a mac.

It will, its by far the best browser out there. IE is used mainly by corps and people who dont know much about computers and the internet. So of course, its gonna account for alot more usage. However, Mozilla Firefox is great and its waaaay hard to improve on.

i disagree with that, my main reason for not using Firebox in the past was i just did not trust 3rd party software for web browsing security but since then i have stopped using IE, opera and netscape.

On what basis do you make these claims? How much experience do have using Macs? I'm nowhere near either a "Narrow fielded 1337", or an "absolute total noob." I own 3 macs. A 1GHz G4 iMac, a 1.6GHz G5 Power Mac, and a 2.33Ghz Core2 20" iMac. Macs are a more secure platform, that's a plus in it's corner. As far as it being for noobs, OS X has it's base in Unix, there are plenty of things a power user can do in a terminal shell. Safari's the worst browser on the face of the Earth? Well, that's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, but I find Safari to be far superior to IE, especially where security is concerned. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's a bad product.

Apple haters and bashers are every bit as bad as MS haters and bashers.

How much do you actually know about Macs? I owned a Mac well before I got Windows, and I still rate it highly! My mac G3 still boots faster than any computer you have every owned. Don't write them off untill you've properly used and owned one.

Plus, now Mac have gone to Intel, it opens the door even wider for compatibility.
