i have ms. excel 2010 document that protected by password, when i send it through e-mail the file become unprotected file, in other name the pass is gone
is it the bug or i just missed something on that

That's weird, did you email it to yourself and try it on the same system and a different system?

i try to send it through gmail, when i download the attachment, the file got unlocked, the pass is gone
i send it from win 10 with office 2016 and the recipient run win 8 with office 2010

It may be the pretty old version he is using wont read if it is pw protected? No idea... but try sending it to yourself and see if its locked.

1st post said its an office 2010 document, post above says its 16 with yoyr friend opening in 2010. Which is it?

no man, im sending it from my home to office for work
then i figure that the worksheet that sent lost its pass

so the 2010 has bug where protected document can be opened on 2007 if you send it through email?

More likely google docs decrypts it as you send it through gmail. MS-encryption isn't particularly strong... or even really uncrackable by open source libraries like google docs. :laugh:

Google sees information, google ignores password. Nom nom.

i just feels like its a bug from the app itself since some worksheet suddenly got cells locked
especially when you make it on 2016 then you open it on 2007, some pass lost, lookup lost, locked cells
