Would I be able to remove this cooler and put it on similar cards like a 4870/4890? I'm in the market for a nice aftermarket cooler as my old 4830 that I sold made a ton of noise when gaming.

If you are buying a 4870 or 4890, get a Sapphire with the Toxic fan on it. I don't see any other aftermarket coolers better than that. Especially when it comes to cooling things other than the GPU. Most aftermarket coolers fail in cooling the vrm's.
