Hi All. I have recently updated my desktop with the above motherboard and AMD Ryzen 5 1600ghz AM4 CPU. Also Kingston budget 8gb 2666Hz CL19 ram. My question is after installing the said items when I power up my monitor says no signal. The fan is spinning on the CPU and the light on the DVD drive illuminates, but I do not hear the hard drive working. This board as a VGA adaptor fitted which is how I attach it to the monitor which is from Asus. Do I need to also fit a graphics card to this MB or could it be faulty memory, which was new with the MB & CPU. Thanks.

Is it a Cpu or Apu? If the Cpu model doesn't end with a "G" it will need a dedicated graphics card.

Ryzen 5 1600 is a CPU..You will need a dedicated graphics card for video output..kindly elaborate about the 'VGA Adaptor' that you have mentioned....have you connected your monitor cable to VGA port on the motherboard?....if yes, you wont get a video signal...kindly connect your monitor to a graphics card...

Thanks for the replies. That's what I was thinking. A mistake on my part, assuming that because it had the VGA adapter it had built in graphics. I have purchased a card but this doesn't fit the PCI slot so will have to return and buy MSI or Asus card.
Thanks again for your help.
