Yes, I know my account is new, but I really wanted to share this!

I have managed to unlock the shaders and ROP/TMUs on the MSI RX 460 2GB Low Profile (Samsung Memory). Now, I have tested this and it works (I am overclocked at 1374 MHz core and 2000 MHz Memory. Stable at that).

I do not know if I am allowed to post links or upload files (since I am new) but I will try anyway, I did not see any rules against posting a modified BIOS in the forum guidelines.

Before you do this, MAKE sure you have a backup before flashing ANYTHING to your card. I will not be responsible should you brick or mess anything up. I would advise using ATIWinflash 2.77 to flash the BIOS. I never had any issues doing so.

Note to add: Every card is different, you might be able to unlock the shaders and have high overclocks, you might not be able to.

EDIT: Forgot to add Picture.

No what? I do not quite understand what you meant by "no". "No" as in it did not work?

No as in he does not trust you (the File), and rather than saying something with a little more eloquence, he opted the route which is on the verge of trolling/thread crapping.

Just looking out for the more gullible members of our community. ;) You love me and you know it m8

because unlocking the shaders on a rx 460 is going to gain you so much FPS... sigh.

Who cares if it does not appeal to you, and while you may have the best interest of the community in mind, your delivery is poor, and we should get back to the topic at hand.
We are looking into the legitimacy of said file, but I personally couldn't tell heads or tails of what is hosted (no idea what I am looking at), so as of now, I cannot say much for it.

This website sure is boring, back to Gamefaqs I go. Later gators. Enjoy your 2 fps boost from a risky 460 bios flash.
Heh, you could say that about all vBIOS flashes. There is always a risk involved when flashing.

All I did was change a few bytes in the hex editor.

I changed 6F 22 70 22 to 6F 22 6F 22. No other changes.

This is right up there with the RX 560D Unlock, Good Work. Hey @Final_Fighter here might be a compadre for you.

By the way I have links in my Signature for bios flashing methods even a bios colletcion. If this bios is verified as Legitimate, please give it a correct description of what card this belongs to specifically, and what it does to said card (what you wrote earlier) report this info to @T4C Fantasy and @W1zzard too.

@sneekypeet thanks for smacking lynx29 around, he hates miners obviously but this application could be used to squeeze more performance out of the specific card for gaming too. 460s aren't that bad at it.

It never goes up more than 48 wats in MSI afterburner. How can it use more? i better leave it to original until there is something official.
anyway, i use it to benchmark and test games, movies. until i found something worth buying.

Did you patch it with the AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher? That is your issue.

Also, are you sure you have Samsung memory?

You are going to get an error 43 or 42 until you patch the card with the Pixel Clock Patcher.

The newer drivers do not like modified BIOSes.

Real time stats http://78.22.135.35:3333
Thread ID 2 & 3 is the Samsung card. (for now, should get replaced this week with a 580 also with Samsung (you can tell by the S/N, you can always ask the shop /seller to check it for you. If you buy 2nd hand ask for a picture of the card, not the box.))

And yes they are patched, the others wouldn't be working either otherwise. Did the straps myself (not that it's rocket science)
BTW the unlocked Hynix bios does work on the Samsung, but the card will still work as if it's locked but at the Hynix timings. (slower than the Samsung stock bios. about 40h/s slower in cryptonight.)

BTW Xander, I'm not here with the intent to prove you wrong. I want a working bios :)
One thing I havn't tried yet tho is leave the shaders as is but change the timings only.
I also had to -f else it refused to flash.

I'm getting about 452h/s cryptonight (they are tuned for that) on the Hynix ones.
With a working bios the Samsung would get 520h/s in my estimate.

It never goes up more than 48 wats in MSI afterburner.
That's for the core only. You can get it down to 40W though.
With the mem at 850mV you easily looking at 60-65W (That's under full load I'm talking)
Add a couple watt for the rest of the PCB and you're close to maxing out the PCIe limit.
