OK guys Im sure some of you have read my thread in the Sys builders section of the forums and know im about to do a new upgrade. I had my mind set on the DFI P45 board. Well my friend just bought a whole new i7 set-up with the MSI eclipse board and 3 MSI 260's. His current rig has a MSI P45 NEO2-FR board thats maybe 2 weeks old.(his 780i took a crap on him and he couldn't wait for the i7's)(daddy's money.. must be nice ehe?) But now that his order is in the mail and should be in by Monday or Tuesday, he wants to sell me his P45 for 85$. Nice price right? I get all the goodies and the box it came in also (if i need to return it, its still under warranty from MSI and newegg)
My question here is.. Is this board worth a shit.. or at least 85$. I know that MSI's P45 Platinum board is a good board judging from the reviews Ive seen and the latest article in Bit-Tech about the MSI Master Overclocking Arena 2008
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2008/11/16/msi-s-master-overclocking-arena-2008/1 <-- (good reading when you get the time)
But its not the NEO2....they were using the Platinum edition board. Have any of you heard anything good about this board and/or is there anyone using this board that could help me make my decision either to buy it or not? I would also like to know if this thing can OC like the ASUS P45's or the DFI's...
In order to better help you make your comments I will be using a E8500 (E0 stepping), 2 gigs of ram, a CORSAIR HX620 PSU, and a MSI GTX260 (the 192..:shadedshu not 216) only reason im buying that card is that is already 214$ at the egg, and that's a DAMN good price on a card of that performance value. I will ONLY run a single card configuration.. no need for the extra GPU's.Here is a Picture to help you understand what im talkn about..
Thank you for your time... any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated
