MSI first Summit laptops have been well-acclaimed by business users. Now the new members are introduced! Surrounded by the captivating golden ratio spiral special effect, MSI grandly unveiled the "MSIology: Determined to Succeed 2021" virtual event. Exemplifying the perfection of the golden ratio, MSI launched the Summit series, including the honorees of "CES Innovation Awards" MSI Summit E16 Flip and MSI Pen, "Best of the CES 2021" winner Summit E13 Flip Evo, and the MSI USB-C Docking Station Gen 2. During the virtual event, MSI showcased the versatile work styles and displayed how the MSI Summit series can unleash users' potential to boost business and productivity.

"As the famous author Arthur C. Clarke once said, any sufficiently advanced technology is equivalent to magic. Today, we are here to witness the magic of the new MSI Summit.", Iris Chuang, Product Management Director of MSI Notebook, proudly announced in the opening of the new product launch. A symbol of aesthetics, a giant golden ratio spiral outlined the spirit of MSIology, which is to design impeccable laptops for perfectionists who are determined to succeed.

Summit E13 Flip Evo, Summit E16 Flip convertible laptop are the best tools for fast-paced work
Nowadays, people spend more time working remotely, a portable, comprehensive, and multifunctional laptop will be a perfect tool for a distant office setup. During the show, the host shuttled from office, café lounge to home, showcasing how the brand new Summit series laptops can seamlessly blend into the user's work, social occasions, family time, and different scenarios. It demonstrates that the laptop has become like a partner at work, a bestie to enjoy entertainment together, or a loyal sidekick who secures your data, aiding you to face the dynamic fast-paced challenge in the new modern era. "You expect the laptop to be extremely thin, high performance, unique design, convenient, and reliable. Guess what, the latest Summit laptops have all of those." said Iris Chuang.

New Summit series exemplify perfection of golden ratio starts with 16:10 screen
When things are perfectly in line with the golden ratio, they simply look beautiful! The highlight of the new MSI Summit 2-in-1 convertible laptops is the perfect design key "Golden Ratio". To create the best experience, MSI studied the law of aesthetics within mathematics and nature, and exemplified the perfection of the golden ratio!

From the logo placement, case design, to the compelling 16:10 display, MSI employed the law of golden ratio into the MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo and Summit E16 Flip, and then the impeccable laptops were born for perfectionists and professionals. Users can choose the 13-inch E13 or the bigger-screen 16-inch E16 according to their demands. Here is the magic feature, when the display expands from 16:9 to 16:10, the visible area extends 10% more, providing more room for info while scrolling less, and further enhances productivity.

As for the chassis, the Summit E13 Flip Evo and Summit E16 Flip can flip 360 degrees. The convertible design is adaptive to fit a variety of scenarios. The Summit series can be the best tool during conferences and events. It can be adjusted to be a presenter monitor, or simply be used for viewing conference materials as a tablet, and be flipped to tent mode to become a whiteboard for note-taking during group discussion.

Additionally, through the CNC manufacturing process for the sturdy unibody design, the cases are thin, sleek yet stronger than ever without compromise. With the aluminium-extruded unique technology, the Summit E13 Flip Evo chassis delivers high durability, and the hinges can endure extensive use for years.

Summit series with 150% performance enhancement and ultimate fast data transfer
Summit series not only is pleasant to the eye, but powerful on the performance. The Summit E13 Flip Evo is designed with the latest Intel Evo platform, equipped with the 11th Gen. Intel Core i7 processor, which improves performance by 150%, and Intel Iris Xe graphics that are 4.5 times faster than previous-gen UHD graphics.

Furthermore, the Summit E13 Flip Evo performs 10% higher than other 2-in-1 laptops of the same tier and is ideal for the demand for fast-moving work styles. For people who work remotely, transfer speed is pivotal! MSI Summit series, outfitted with PCIe Gen.4 SSD to provide twice the bandwidth. Compared to standard USB interfaces, thunderbolt 4 delivers four times the output, allowing maximum data transmission speed. Moreover, the Wi-Fi 6E significantly improves network speed and performance, with a much-extended bandwidth without disturbance from other wireless devices.

Noise-free, high-quality video call is realized by new MSI Summit series' techniques
To cope with the increasing video meeting trend, the new MSI Summit series offers triple protection of webcam. From the indicator light, on/off hotkey, to a thoughtful physical switch on the side of the laptop, it can truly protect the user's privacy.

On the other hand, MSI also offers tips for high-quality audio and video conference calls. Fed up with the unavoidable background intermittent noise like chatters, traffic noises while working at home or in a remote office? Now, all these disturbances can be shut off. The MSI Noise Reduction Cam enables the webcam to restrain signal noise and produce quality images and can be a life-saver in an inevitable low-light environment. In addition to image quality, users also no longer need to be concerned about surrounding noise. Just turn on Noise Cancellation to dissipate all the background noise for both speaker and microphone immediately, to eliminate even the faintest background hum, allowing users to immerse in the ultimate quiet and professional meeting environment.

Moreover, the exquisite design has made Summit E16 Flip the nominee of the "IF Design Award", which can certainly be an artistic gadget to display in the office or home for users to accentuate their extraordinary taste.

On top of all the excellent features of the Summit E13 Flip Evo, the Summit E16 Flip is powered by the latest NVIDIA graphics card. The powerful horsepower, Summit E16 Flip can handle a wider range of demanding tasks and creation, such as 3D software and various creative works. With the exclusive new "Dynamic Cooler Boost" thermal design, the Summit E16 Flip runs quietly under 35dB even when the CPU is under full load. Moreover, the Summit E16 Flip equips with 4 microphones to ensure the audio can be well recorded for high-quality conference calls. All of these optimizations allow users to take advantage of hardware to its full potential.

MSI USB-C Docking Station Gen 2 realizes unrivaled work efficiency
The virtual event also revealed tips on how to be well-organized on the office setup. Connecting all kinds of ports can be a hassle! The 2nd generation MSI Docking Station helps reduce all wires to just one and maximizes productivity by connecting up to three external 4K UHD displays and centralizing multiple USB ports. It supports 100-watt full power delivery. Moreover, the MSI USB-C Docking Station Gen 2 can be a great device in business corporations by supporting MAC address Pass-Through and PXE Wake-on-LAN (WOL). This makes the new docking the perfect fit for both personal use and where enterprise IT management is needed.

The best tool for elite, CES 2021 Innovation Awards winner: MSI Pen
With MSI Pen in hand, jotting down notes or writing becomes a natural and intuitive way to express feelings and ideas. Using the latest MPP 2.0 technology, the MSI Pen provides a stable transfer and the best possible performance. It has 4096 pressure levels, making writing and drawings appear naturally on screen as real pens. During the show, MSI also demonstrated how MSI Pen can even be used as a remote controller to operate presentations and the whiteboard with just a simple click. It's also a perfect match with the Summit E13 Flip Evo and Summit E16 Flip. From annotation and note-keeping to digital signatures, business brainstorming meetings, or just drawing for stimulating inspiration, the MSI pen can become the most useful tool to show elites' confidence and wisdom.

The MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo and Summit E16 Flip laptops, outfitted with unprecedented performance, enterprise-grade security, and outstanding 20-hour battery life into a versatile 360-degree flippable design. Together with the new MSI Pen and the 2nd generation MSI Docking station, the new "All-in-one" Summit series can greatly enhance users' capability, business, and productivity.

I'll believe that 16:10 is the best aspect ratio when all the content viewed on it becomes 16:10.

For the useful lifespan of this laptop and beyond, you're going to have two little black bars at the top and bottom of your screen a lot of the time, and being IPS that's where any light-leakage, corner-glow, and uniformity issues are most visible.

16:9 is not the best aspect ratio for productivity but when I'm working on a laptop what I usuallly want is a wider screen, not a taller screen - because I'm not a single-tasking luddite, I have two applications side by side and a 2:1 panel would probably be ideal. 16:9 isn't 2:1 but it at least works pretty damn well.

16:9 video viewed at 16:10 ratio looks natural to all but the fussiest videophile. For Microsoft Office applications, I much prefer 16:10. Side by side works well on a 32 inch 4K monitor like the one I am typing this post on, not so much on 13 or 16 inches.

Each to their own, but there are multiple reasons why 16:9 is the overwhelmingly-dominant standard. Cost, content, and compatibility being the top three of a very long list.

Personally I think 16:10 laptops are a more logical choice for small laptops as the taller screen means a deeper laptop, which can use the extra space for longer palm rest and bigger trackpad. Only valid if the manufacturer doesn't needlessly squander that extra real estate, of course.

This looks quite good except for that duplicate backslash key they crammed into the right control key, it should've been the menu key instead.

Also 2K is a bit too much at 16 inches. I'm fine with 1920x1200 or even 1680x1050 as long as it's still 16:10.
