Hello everyone,
I want to replace thermal pads in my 3080 Ti, probably only the ones on the memory. Can someone tell me the thickness of these pads? I can't find any teardown of this card, which mentions the pads. Thanks for considering my request.

I'm replacing mine as we speak - It looks like the board takes 1.5mm, 2.0mm AND 2.5mm, with the RAM taking 2.0mm. I just installed 1.5 and 2.0mm pads, and there is definitely a gap seen from the side where the pads aren't making contact with the caps, VRMs, and amps.

I'm placing a fresh order for Gelid 0.5mm pads because they don't offer a 2.5mm. Live and learn.

What about the pads on the memory? These are 1.5mm? Did you also look behind the backplate? Thanks for the help!

which revision of the gaming x trio? u need to take the old thermal pads and measure them prior to buying a new set, because its important to get the thickness right (too thin and it wont work, too thick and the gpu will be left with no contact to the heatsink, also the memory chips may get crushed in the process)

It's the

MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GAMING X TRIO

yes, sorry i meant to say revision ;) , afaik there were early models which featured different pad layout. if you have the card at hand best option would be to take it apart and measure the thermal pads. just take a pad and measure its thickness with a ruler (without squeezing).

@kelsiersghost The pads on the vrams are 100%, not 2mm.

And the backplate ones are also not 2mm... These are 3mm.

VRAM pads are either 1mm or 1,5mm. Right now, after opening the GPU they are 1mm, but that might be after some squishing.

I installed the 2mm pads on the VRAMs, changed the paste and everything is fine. -20C on the memory. Life is good.
