MSI GTX670 2GB OC PE - voltage/clock problems

After running furmark, unigine or 3dmark you name it the card performs really bad and as you can see the temperatures are fine but the clocks and voltage and lower than what it should be.

Is there anything i can try? I have another card, same model and brand and it's working just fine.

Not true. I have another card, same model and brand and it works 100%. I also stated that this happens while running 3dmark or Unigine so i don't see your point.

I bought this on ebay but the seller is not responding. He sold me 2 cards for sli but one of them is defect i guess. Funny thing is that the temperature is ok and the card works but the tdp is being capped. Maybe the 2x6 pin connectors are damaged in any way but as far us i can see it's ok.

Sounds like the card is going bad then.

Are you sure its not doing the same with the other card?

Are you using the other card in the same slot?

Also check and see if the cards have the original bios on them or not.

Contact ebay and see if they can get you half of your money back, if the person advertised both working but it isnt id rate him low on trust

Yes i'm sure, the other card is perfect.

Both of them are still on warranty period, they were bought from different stores but what if the invoices are mixed up? None of them has the serial number printed on it so, what if i use the warranty but for the wrong store?

Another question, how can i check if the bios is correct?

The invoice has not my name on it, can i activate the warranty on Amazon(Europe)? One of the invoices is from this store.

I'm not sure why your GPU-Z isn't showing you the 'Sensor', but there is normally a 'PerfCap Reason' reading. This will give you the reason as to why the card is using various clock states; e.g. when idle, it may read 'util' meaning that it isn't being utilised enough to warrant max clocks (usually). Other reasons include power limits, thermal limits, voltage reliability, and operating voltage. What your experiencing could be corrupt drivers, dodgy BIOS, or a physically damaged card that is no longer stable at factory specifications.

Yeah, it's probably damaged. I paid by paypal and i will get a refund if i escalate this but lets see if the seller is going to respond or not. I will lose too much time trying to figure it out if the stores are going to accept this. He probably dumped his SLI after damaging one of the cards.

405MHz memory clock screams unstable/broken GPU (it's the failsafe clock speed). As you may have concluded earlier, the card is probably bad.

The seller responded to me saying that he did all in good faith bla bla bla, he is an inexperient person on this matter because he doesn't even know what Unigine is...I already opened a paypal dispute but still no idea if he wants to refund me or not. Next time i should remember not to deal with sellers that have zero feedback...

I hope you get your money back and that's very good advice to not trust anyone with zero feedback. I only buy something on Ebay if a seller has at least 100 ratings and a 90% or greater positive rating. That may sound harsh for the new sellers but I can also say that I've never been scammed on Ebay using that approach.

I only buy something on Ebay if a seller has at least 100 ratings and a 90% or greater positive rating. That may sound harsh for the new sellers but I can also say that I've never been scammed on Ebay using that approach.

For me its 97/98% or greater depending on if they have failed to ship or not. I dinged someone for a game being 4 days late than avg shipping they called me and i told them id take the review down but i never did.

IMO this is bad practise.....

While we can never predict how fast the postal service will take to process the mail and deliver it (and there are a shit tonne of things that can delay your delivery - trust me, i worked in postal for 5 years) marking him down for late delivery is unfair if he despatched on time. Many a time in my years of employment have i had to work through a 2-3 week backlog of mail because of strikes, If strikes arent the issue then its down to incompetence. I have seen letters, parcels or small packages fall on the floor and nobody bothering to pick them up. SOME people do but then they just dash it into a corner or some place where it subsequently gets forgotten about. While I have seen a fair amount of this going on, i have always tried my best to lead by example and make sure that whatever falls on the floor gets picked up and taken to where it should go for processing.

Its unfortunate that your delivery was delayed but your postage should have of at least been refunded if you paid for it. Not every online merchant or retailer will do this though.


Whatever happens to anything thats put through a postal or courier service is really out of the retailers/merchants hands unless you paid for special delivery or requested insurance on the goods that are being delivered.
