Once upon a time there were better times. :( Wondering when we will enjoy good times again.

...resulting price-cuts for the GTX 780, throwing MSI's inventories in jeopardy...

What about cost cuts inside companies, throwing employees in jeopardy without jobs??????????????????????????????????????????????????? Do they feel for all these people or their destinies don't matter anything?!

?

I know they don't care but....... just asking, perhaps there are some with conscience/consciousness still left in them.

It's not the job of any business to care about their employees more than what it takes to have them help the business make money. All morality aside, small business owners have an obligation to feed and clothe their own families, and larger companies have an obligation to make money for either their owners or shareholders. Whether an employee has a job or not is never on any business' mind if they want to survive in the cuthroat competitive business world. Employees are a resource, that if reasonably paid and taken care of will also work toward that goal for a company. However, if income is not coming in, a business certainly cannot keep people employed just to take care of them...or the business will cease to exist.

That's essentially false, there are many examples when an up-and-running rich wealthy company does it only because they wanna even more profit, or just because of their greed.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. It sounds like you are saying a wealthy company provides free jobs so they can make more profit or greed?

A business operates to make money, period. Business do not survive as a business if they are not trying to make money. It's not greed. It's survival.

If you've ever owned a business, or ever will, you will see that the bottom line is you need income to provide for your own family...because you are the one who took the risk to open a business. As your business grows, you will hire employess to help you meet that end. Major corporations are the same way. They cannot employ more people for long than it takes to meet their goals. If you ever work as a manager in a major corporation, you will see this as well.

Major corporations are the same way. They cannot employ more people for long than it takes to meet their goals.
Companies are in business to make money while meeting the needs of their customers, not to employ people. Employees are hired to meet the needs of a company's goal and in turn, they are paid. For instance, companies may hire temporary or seasonal workers to clear up a backlog of orders. The reason for temps is that the company meets the needs of customers as well as maximize profit without the cost of overhead (i.e. health benefits, 401k, vacation, etc.). This does not make them greedy, just good business minded. They have an obligation to shareholders to maximize profit and to customers by providing quality product or service.

Companies only care about "profit margins" and this means squeezing personnel, vendors, governmental tax authorities. Very sad.

this just confirm a 980 Ti is sure to be released ...

Big LOL to all of you raging to buy a 980 today...

Yep. Time and time again, people never learn the cycle for the money grabs. Just like how I and a bunch of other Titan owners got burned after Nvidia launched the 780 Ti. Flagship card gets obsoleted in mere months, what a joke. Not making that mistake again.

I'm hoping they make another P.E. (Power Edition) version for the 9XX series. My GTX680 P.E. has everything the lighting does, but dual bios and lower clocks. It clocks well past the lighting model, plus it can be flashed to the lighting model with out any problems and it's a lot cheaper compared. Physically it looks the same. Even if they don't I'll probably hold out for a lighting model.

I don't think it's a bad thing for MSi to wait for the Ti models to come out, because it probably really hurt the GTX780 lighting sales not being a Ti.

I would never have spend more, in first place, and second place, you didn't know that there will always be a newer, better part in the future, always always always? Such a noob!

Boris beats me but still an opportunity to post a pic of my wall museum. I also had the Geforce 256 and GF 2 Ti but must have given them to someone. Ti was always Titanium for me, must come from somewhere : )

I only got attracted by that 3Dfx VooDoo card. That card my friend, was for PC gaming, what wheel was for the human when first discovered.

These cards are so big, they should release the Lightning series with EK water blocks. That PCB is the sexy part ;)
Most of the lightning owners end up doing that any way.
