Hi all

Im a budding Dj with no budget and a desentish pc and i have a gig on valentines day to play a set at my local college ok...

now this is my problem... the set im going to play is via my pc but the mixer (it a Gemini PMX 1100 stereo mixer) i have (it works perfect) has an odd problem with my sound card. you see the set up i have is a direct from the rear green to stereo line in on the mixer (phoneo don't like it) and i can set it up that the realtek sends line out on this port but for some reason it wont send it in stereo... which sucks as it is then only going out of one speeker... now iv tested all the cables and the mixer chanials and they all work.... now if i plug my pc direct to my stereo (thats an AIWA NSX SS05) it works fine.... :banghead:

so what im asking is... is there a way to tell that dam sound card to send the data in stereo....

if this seems all a bit newbish soz i am a newb but im willing to learn my self out of it lol..

anyhow thanks for reading...:respect:

with good audio u need a decent sound card ... and that realtek is not

a fix could be a splitter on the channel thats sending but then it wont be stereo

Yes, for normal gamers the Realtek is fine, but you WILL notice some problems. Even with new drivers the difference in performance is nil, but it should correct your issues. But you being a person who works with audio, I would highly recommend you purchase a new sound card! The stock realtek audio chip is satisfactory, however, Distorting and clipping its noticeable, thus I would invest in a solution such as a Creative XFi Music.

Even upgrading from the stock audio, to an old and outdated sound card, the sound quality was significantly better with the addition of the significant reduction of any clipping or distorting.

the way i read that it seems the problem is with your mixer, not your realtek. i don't know if i understood correctly, but you said when going from the stereo out(the green port) set up as line out to the aiwa stereo it works fine, but going from the same green port configured the same way into the gemini its mono?
