Surely the price is crazy? Mid tier? $630? In practical terms going to gain anything over much cheaper boards like MSI PRO Z690-A? Will always have heat-related constraints on high end alder lake as seen in overclocking section of this review.

I get what your saying but I do not think those two are in the same class in power delivery alone, 14x 55 A vs 18x 75 A.

If you are strictly going to play games and run it at defaults, I can see the MSI PRO Z690-A being a alternative. However because WC gear cost so much as the initial investment starts at $300. Why not just get an AIO instead.

Low end open-loops setups are a waste of money in my opinion. Everyone has a different budget though. Can't fault someone for that.

630$ yeah why not, 18x75A for 10% OC

12700KF clocks up to 5GHz, now u can OC at 5,5 GHz as daily driver

The K CPU and Z Boards are totaly useless nowdays, (a friend had 2 options for Rocket Lake):
11600KF + Z Board = 380€, OC value about 15%
11700F + B Board =370€

I don’t understand why you moan like that, as it is realistic, the CPU is on the verge of a possible clock and 10% is possible due to liquid cooling. and 75 A mosfets are strong enough for well over 10%, but chokes are not capable of 50A and this is the same on all boards that have 105A mosfet. Advertising inflated lies are sold as non-potential non-feasible. It is a very solid gameng board that offers everything that is realistic to use. Even 2.5Gb / s net is realistically enough and 10Gb / s is unnecessary, ping is important. . (It costs € 800 a month, which is too much if you have enough capable optical support.) The price is higher because of the block, and MSI is not as expensive as, say, the ASUS ROG hero, which is a competitor.

The only reason 2.5G vs 10G is a thing is more for "internal use" - moving files from PC to PC or to NW-Storage as well as if you use it as media-store for other elements in your home-network. Does it make a massive difference for the general user which doesn't even have the router/switch hardware to utilize 10G? I don't think so. But if you spend >500€ on a product and 10G is available as an option right now it should be included, just so you can later adopt to that and use it.

It's not a "this breaks the deal as EVERY user would want/need it" but a "for a premium price some elements SHOULD be included as they are available and not the main price drivers".

Else I totally agree with you :)
