My P45 C51 mobo with a Q9300 needs a ram upgrade, so i puled out my Fury Black 1600mhz 2 x 4GB Ram Sticks.

So i reset mobo, pull out old ram, insert new one, and no post, no beep codes, nothing it is just hanging there.

Mobo lights show everything is ok, but no post. System spec are:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300
MSI P45 C51 MOBO
AMD Radeon HD6770
Corsair CX500W PSU
6GB DDR3 1333Mhz

Sounds like the motherboard has 'earthed' with the case. Pull everything out and put it all back in slowly.

Just for the record:
Boot hanging with new RAM, i take it out, put the old one on it again, and VOILA boots fine.

Faulty ram. Try it in another board, if you can.

So 5.7 is the latest bios for that motherboard
Can you try mix an old 4GB module with the newer one? try it out and see what happens

Your ram is incompatible with board, find a different kind

RAM is not faulty, i putted it back on my H55 system, worked like a charm.

I came to realise that the MSI mobo is very picky on RAM sticks, it can take up to a whole day before it desides to accept the sticks, had problems in the past like that.
