MSI R7970 PE on Newegg-Looks like a Lightning?

Just ordered a MSI R7970 PE 3GD5. (thats what Newegg says) Can't find on MSI web site, but pics look exactly like a 7970 lightning. Does anyone know for sure?

In the pictures, on the back of the card it says Lightning so.. It's a lightning.

PE = Power Edition...lightniing PCB and cooler, reference clocks. Probably cards with GPUs that didn't make the Lightning quality standards, or were just not tested for Lightning clocks.

Interesting, anyway.

Meh. not really...they probably ordered a bunch of the coolers and backplates, more than needed, and are now clearing out the old stock of them this way. In the past they were selling the TwinFrozer 2 coolers in Taiwan or Japan, cooler only, so it kinda makes sense to see such a card. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a couple, I really likr all the VRM LEDs and such.

Hope I got lightning performance...
My Sapphire 7970 OC was running 1250 Core with no issues. Returned it due to Coil buzz.
Hope I can hit 1300 core with this. We will see. Will let you know...

looks like the Reactor is installed if you look a the egg back view you can see 'LED1' through the MSI . it appears to be the same as this

Think I'll order 1 Been waiting for a Saphire Toxic but this will be fun to play with

Maybe hardware wise its 100 percent lightning with reference core clock. This is fine as it will overclock just as high.
I look forward to getting my hands on it.

Why are 7970 prices going back upwards? The real lightning was $520 not long ago, and the arrival of the GHz edition 7970 will demand even lower prices than that.

Sorry Everyone. After sleeping on it, I realized that this was not a true Lightning.
So I had UPS return to sender for a full refund. Now the real lightning is available. $600 seems pricey to me concidering it does not overclock much better than others.
