Both are good boards that will do nicely so it's really a matter of preference and budget here.
Between the two you really can't go wrong for the hardware you're wanting to run with it.

Budget isn’t an issue I just need to know what’s is the better board overall I can comfortably afford both motherboards

I also want to know what’s better for overclocking

Both will do well in that regard

One interesting fact, is the dark hero chip set is passively cooled where the msi ace has a fan on the chipset, so if that's something that might bother you, it maybe in your best interests to pick the dark hero

I wouldn't pass up a chance to own a C8DH for anything... it is one of the finest AM4 motherboard money can buy right now, and fully passively cooled even with the X570 chipset. Either way you go will be great for that setup, and if you don't need the features they afford, take a look at high-end B550 boards like the AsRock Taichi and the B550-E Strix (I run my 5950X/3090 on this last board).

Wait for the next gen, what you have is already capable. If you have $$ to blow, spend it towards DDR5.

Not just that ddr5 is gonna take a while to adjust and will take years to become a standard

Actually DDR5 will be the standard with the next gen, you're looking at blowing big cash for premium boards which won't give you more performance than next gen with DDR5 will.

If you're buying now, stick with cheaper boards. No need for all that.

Isn’t the dark hero the better version of the c8dh

I unfortunately can’t really wait for a next gen I wanna buy now because there will always be something better around the corner I’m building this pc to last me for a good while that’s why I’m going with a premium everything

The more expensive boards come with features like 5 / 10gbit ethernet. Unless you have a use for those, it's a waste of money. Spend the money towards things that will matter more (like GPU) and keep the board to a lower profile. Buying the most expensive boards out there literally gives you almost nothing.

It'll drop with the new Raphael AMD SKUs or the Intel stuff. Intel might come a bit earlier but they'll probably drop around the same timeframe from what it looks like. I'd expect early pricing to be high, but it'll likely still be better than spending big money on older platform. Just grabbing some B550 would also work and be cheaper for now.

Go for the Crosshair VIII dark. The bios is pretty mature now and that IS an issue with AMD... I use the vanilla Crossfire VIII. Good luck :toast:

That's a strong statment, might i know why ?

It took them three tries to get a simple mb replacement corrected. They pulled the infamous we'll just send him back the same mb because he certainly couldnt have written down the serial number bs. Strike 1!
Then it was a used pos to replace a less than 2 month old mb. Strike 2!
Then it was another used pos after assuring me it would be a nice shiney new board. Steeerike 3!
Then nearly 3.5 months and 3 trips to ups later they finally sent me a proper replacement.
Since then they have a special place in my heart.

That sucks but i mean why would you get the dark hero despite all that headech, sure its cool but its really not that much better than other flagships aside from it being one of the very few passive x570 chipsets

Its the only x570 that meets my standards so far and between the two given options (despite my usually going msi) the dh is the superior board imo.
Personally im no rush to build anything right now. With summer being here ive no time for computers.

ASUS AMD Boards are technically great but MSI has a lot more experience and normally the better overall experience (especially in responding to problems caused by new bios versions...)
for example:
ASUS had like 10 different B550 Strix F bios version where 4 of them were marked as Beta, many of them were released basically untested, broke systems, bios versions got fully removed from the website with no warning... etc.

i'd stick to MSI.
