You wish. Realistically, you need to check if you have the BIOS up to date.

That aside, yes. All the 500 series boards are meant to support Zen 3, either they ship with the support baked in or you download a BIOS update and that'd be it.

But for example, ASUS has not yet launched a BIOS update for my Prime X570-P to support Ryzen 5000 CPUs. I suspect it will be soon, though.

For 500series with the A.G.E.S.A Combo V2 PI 1.0.8.0 will be able to boot. Gigabyte has this already over a month now (Sep15th) and I believe ASUS too for longer (2 months).
For full support, upon ZEN3 release (Nov5th) they will provide the A.G.E.S.A Combo V2 PI 1.1.0.0

I thought none of 400-series boards had PCIe 4? I mean, there were those beta BIOSes which did have support, but AMD decided to lock the feature to 500 series only, so newer BIOS updates came with the feature fully disabled..
I think it would be a complete waste to have a 5000 series stuck with pcie3.

This is surely good news for me. I hope my x470 Gaming Carbon will get the update and I will be able go on a new adventure with the 5900X :)
Although I will have to take a look at the features. Maybe going x570 does have its merits and the jump to a newer board will actually be better.
For that I'm gonna have to wait a bit to see the reviews. Either way, that is a good news :)
