Tell the game devs to stop being lazy.

And these graphs prove not a damn thing. How do we know multi-threaded Fluidmark was optimized properly to take advantage of the cpu plus a single card? Could be a simple programmer's mistake.

Short version = Need more data.

Apparently they add extra emitters to use more then 2 cores. It's apparent that physics can be done on the CPU. I honestly don't believe it's devs being lazy but they are doing all they can with it.

They've already released an update with more data. Pretty soon the benchmark will go public and we'll have a lot more info. Perhaps even enough to overcome your odd skepticism?

Knowing that the Ageia PPU had way less processing power than even a old Athlon , you must realize it doesn't take a genius to figure out. http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=5492&page=2

A) Physx calculations are the same simple type of limited calculation that F@H does, and look at the new A3 core and what it can do on a quad core.
B) Most of their simulations are by their own whitepapers "Pre-cooked" yes children there is a actual term used in the nvidia whitepapers that tells devs to "pre cook" or pre render physx for scenes when possible, or if it incurs too much of a performance penalty to do it in realtime.
C) Only 15 or 16 known games use GPU enabled Physx, the rest use regular physix.
D) For the last time, adding Physx does NOT increase your FPS unless you have a Intel P4 2Ghz with 512MB of RAM and a good graphics card. If such is the case fin d the nearest bridge and take a jump. Physx will save you.

This why we need Open Physics not this Nvidia controled Physx

Personally, I would rather have open PhysX and open Cuda since they work. Once these programs are standard all the Nvidia hubabaloo will go away with it.
the sooner the better

i'd rather an engine thats not physX, because i want one that actually accelerates gameplay - you know, like in Gmod something that lets 500 physics items go off at once... not something that gives me a little extra debris that other players wont even see in an MP game.

It is purely devs being lazy to not use multi core Physx. JeGX used the Phyx SDK to code this. He did not add anything special. It was all available right in the SDK, meaning all developers can code for multi core Physx if they wanted to. They choose not to.

They've already released an update with more data. Pretty soon the benchmark will go public and we'll have a lot more info. Perhaps even enough to overcome your odd skepticism?
To be completely honest, I did not think it out properly for some reason. I can absolutely see how a good quad can outpace the single card setup, as the card also has to render the scene. I completely forgot to take that into account.

Physx is capable of Either. Blame the game devs, not the api.

Seriously people, physx is not a bad api. The worst thing about it is that nVidia only lets gpu acceleration happen with their cards.
