Is it possible to run more than one PSU into a PC?

ie- use one power supply for hdds and optical drives and use other PSU for everything else like gfx mobo & cpu?

or is it a bit more complicated than that..

nice case, so i guess you can use 2 psu's to power your system, but can they just be ordinary ATX psu's , or do you need some sort of "dual" psu adapter or something...

the reason i ask is my pc needs more power and i have 3 ATX psu's sitting here, if i could plug one into all my hdd's and dvd drives that would solve my problem, but i dont want to plug 2 psu's in at once if its going to cause problems!

yeah u can do that but you will need to short the green wire to ground so it will stay on

you can use ordinary psu's in that case...

coolermaster included this with the case:

this allow you to fire both psu's at the same time. basically it shorts the two leads that powers on the other psu.

ah ok cool, well guys i need a bit of help trying to find the correct wires so i dont kill myself! :ohwell:

what would happen if i took the green wire out of my 2nd psu's 20 pin connector and attached that to the green wire on the 20 pin connector on my 1st psu, like literaly stuck it in the same connection in the 20 pin connector

understand?

oh and if the psu isnt grounded correctly will it just stop functioning?

thnx
