Mushkin, a global leader in high-performance computer products, announced today the release of 'Redline Ridgeback', a new variation on a heatsink that has become a staple in the high-performance and overclocking communities. Because of its aggressive yet sleek design and incredible heat dissipation qualities, enthusiasts the world over have demanded the Ridgeback heatsink for their memory cooling needs. Now, this exciting piece of technology has been prepared for Mushkin's world-renowned Redline Series with an engaging and strong blood-red appearance.

"The Ridgeback Project has been an exciting project for both myself and our marketing department. Because of Ridgeback's success, we wanted to offer the cooling technology with a sharp new look, and to give customers new aesthetic options. Case modders and system builders now have a striking new look available to them when using Ridgeback. Redline has always been Mushkin's premier memory line, and we're happy to add Ridgeback to its mix. Our new blood-red Ridgeback heatsinks scream 'performance' and offer it in every respect." – Brian Flood, director of product development.

I know a lot of people piss'n'moan about aesthetics meaning dick but to some people they do. I'd much rather purchase RAM that has a black (or dark) PCB as opposed to gaybo generic green.

Some very nice timings on these, i agree that black would be much nicer and even more so as they would go great with the many red and black motherboards available.

Please tell me there's just something off with the photo, and that they didn't actually go for the bloody booger paint scheme.

Other than the heatsink colour I don't think there is any difference between the 3x2GB 1600MHz Muskin Ridgeback RAM kit that I have and this one (also has the same CAS timings), but Christmas is approaching so I guess they have to sell something that fits in with the season. :D

Who gives a damn about what the PCB looks like when they perform so well. You can hardly see the PCB anyway because the memory sockets block most of it except the little tiny bit on the top sides. Gees!

Check out TinyTom's review. Click Here For Review On Overclock3D

These stick perform fantastic.

I've got my G. Skill Trident kit running at 6-7-6-16 at 1654MHz and I love these timings and speeds. And these sticks would look great on my Asus Rampage III Gene mobo.

They do fit under the D14. Watch the video that TinyTom made and he shows that they do fit. Click Here To Watch TinyTom's Video

This memory kit isn't very tall. The PCB they use is shorter than say what Corsair and some other companies use. So the heatspreaders don't stand as high.

I think Mushkin's great. I'm still burning some DDR2. But these look like Photoshop to me, dunno.

The photo is not fake, here's the better angle to see why you thought the photo was fishy/photoshopped
