My dvd drives have gone mad

Hi guys im having a problem with both my dvd drives. 1st of all i have one dvd WR which is set to master on the jumpers and my other drive is just a dvd rom drive which i have set to slave on the jumpers. Right more to the point just of late i have been puting my disks into both these drives and nothing happens at all dont no why, the thing is i go to my computer and the D:drive says DVD RW and when i put a game in it changes to cd-rom and nothing happens i try to open it and it says please insert disk the same is no happining with my dvd rom drive i put a disk in and it then changes to cd-rom drive in my computer.

sorry if it sounds confusing but its really bugging me anyone have any ideas to why this could be happining?

Try removing both your drives from Device Manager and restarting your PC.

Try insted of slave and master just put both to cable select if they are on one IDE cable. This seems to work for me
