So, as the title says, Id like to share my first PC build experience. I looked around and figured this is the best place to post this, however if im wrong please correct me, lol. Anyway, I did have a PC of my own probably 20 years ago, which was built by a friend from his old parts and handed down to me. The PC eventually took a shit and I went back to console gaming. I didnt know much so I couldnt fix it. Anyway, fast forward to current time, I'm 34 years old and work as an automotive technician full time, or overtime I should say. I absolutely love FPS games, with a major liking to BR. The BR thing started in like 2018 when I started playing PUBG early access on Xbox One. The game being so poorly optomized in combination for my preference of playing on a mouse and keyboard influenced me into building my own PC. I wanted to eventually stream but wasnt sure when because I knew id need a decent rig to be able to do that at a decent quality. ANYWAY-- I went ahead and bought a pre-built PC. This was the worse and best thing I could have done and ill explain why. The PC took forever it seemed to arrive. The PC was supposed to arrive in 5-7 days and it had been two weeks. I contacted the company, they apologized for the mistake and expedited one to me. This was around the start of the COVID mess. The PC arrived a couple days later and I was very upset with how it performed, to say the least. I went off the FPS specs on the website and they must have been way outdated lol. The PC housed an a320 motherboard, ryzen 3 1200, and 1050ti. These arent the worst parts, but for PUBG around 2020... it just wasnt trying to happen. Especially with no CPU overclocking and 8gb of single channel ram. WELL- this is where it gets good. I get a call from my fiance saying UPS just left a computer at the door. She could tell what it was because the box was the same as what had arrived a couple days prior. She never signed for it because of the COVID nonsense that was going on at the time. Its actually quite comical. The CCTV system shows my man leaving the box and running back to his truck. Needless to say, I was very exited and alot less upset about my PC's poor performance. After all, FREE PC. In my head im thinking about how I can upgrade the main PC, and have the second PC as a stream build. After all, the specs were more than enough to encode and broadcast to twitch or YT. I decided to wait a while though. I let the second PC sit in the closet for a few months just incase I recieved a call. I never did. Now, im really big on Karma, so before starting it up and registering windows and all that, I called them and explained the situation. The guy was suprised I had called, but said he didnt know of anything missing on their end. No one was fired over any double PC shenanigans. He said it didnt suprise him though with everyone wanting a build during the pandemic. Anyways, since the ive had a couple years to learn about builds. Ive replaced every single component in my gaming PC as well as upgraded many things in the secondary PC. For those wondering what pre build company it was, dont ask LOL. I honestly feel like that all was a sign that i should give streaming a shot. Now i will say i havent gained a real big following but i do enjoy it, and most importantly, the situation opened me up to PC building and tech stuff in general which has become my passion hobby outside of work. The shit keeps me out of trouble and occupied. Its funny, but i mess around with parts and upgrade ideas more so then i actually game. It appears that many others around here are the same. Anyway, nothing special but heres some specs as well as pics of my build. Im at work so im limited on the pics.
