high fps =/= smooth

You can still have stutter even with G-sync on.

Game at 120Hz or 144Hz and quit joking around. There is really no cure for this other than limiting it.

What CPU are you running? And get rid of the -3 frame limit, use only V-sync and G-sync. I'm not even sure you'll need V-sync with such a high refresh (unless you pass 240fps)

Why are we using vsync with gsync???

vsync has an effect on gsync. With it off, gsync turns to unsynced output above the hz of the monitor. With it on, it will fallback to vsync.

If it's an official G-SYNC monitor there should be no more than a 1/2fps difference when V-SYNC is off when within the monitors VRR.
But as you said outside of that it does get dicey... But with a 2070 @1080p I don't think he's going to go below 30 or above *240.
As others have said.. Limit it to 120 and call it a day.

and adds input lag which gsync is supposed to avoid. Feels like cutting off the nose to spite the face...

Put a frame limiter on ingame if possible.

**ALL USERS**

Let's test your reaction time because a lot of you claim you can feel the difference at insane refresh rate. My lowest is 250ms after 6 or 7 try's. See link below. "Human benchmark".

If you get below 100ms "prove it" by posting screenshot here on TPU.

250 is your lowest? Whoa....

My lowest was 159. I averaged 189.

What is the relevance of this for the thread? reaction time has nothing to do with things.

Good point, maybe I should have started a new thread on this.

One more thing before I bow out...

I think you need to relax and enjoy your games on that fantastic rig.

Like many many people here at TPU you may just be over-noticing a very small and for 99% of the population unnoticeable problem.

Just know that nothing will ever be good enough... There's always going to be that one thing.

Called craziness and obsessiveness. A game can cause lag on the best systems around due to its code.

Not enough info... please add all your system components (make and entire model No.) to your system specs

1. What are you using as a display ?

a) TV ?
b) Is monitor G-Sync (w/ hardware module as opposed to a G-sync compatible Freesync monitor) ?
c) Is it a ULMB capable G-Sync monitor ?

With (4) 144 Hz + systems here, in most instances, users are turning off G-Sync and using ULMB when game is consistently above 80 fps. If display is true G-Sync, give it a shot

thanks for your answers guys, i saw it on blurbusters and reddit they say i should use it like now ( gsync + vsync + -3frame)

You read it on the internet ?

Take everything with the proverbial grain of salt ... more importantly, advice given may not apply to your paricular hardware

Put a frame limiter on ingame if possible.

Or do what I do and have it switch direct to fast sync for minimal input lag.

It may have some, but heck if I notice it...

You read it on the internet ?

Blurbusters is right in hist instance, and pretty much the goto source for stuff like this.

Oh, and that ad is still cringey as they day it was made...
