My mobo is buzzing when OCed

What does it mean ?
I know it can`t be good. I`m assuming that is because of raised power draw.
But I tought that can handle OCing it is PLATINUM for god sake.

The greater the OC the sound is louder. And when I run orthos it is like a whistle.

Are you possitive it is the mobo and not the PSU? Either way Id get it sorted, as if one goes it may take casualties with it when it pops!

I tought that is PSU and this is fourth PSU in one month. I get from 450w then 550w then 680w and now this 650w and all were buzzing. Now I think it is mobo I don`t think that all PSU were buzzing.

I have had PSU that buzz even if the PC not started just power cable attached and yes they were about to die.

Take it out of the case, lay it out on an insulated surface but try and keep different components (IE optical drives, PSU etc) as far away from the motherboard as possible. Then turn on and try and find the source of the buzzing.

I had a PSU that whined, couldn't work out where the sound was actually coming from until I did that.

TBH though I'd be very careful, back off your overclock because it could be something being overtaxed, never a good thing.

I`m not worried that some thing is going to die I`m just worried that it is going to take its time and I`m going to be stuck with the buzz.

PS3 buzzes too when under heavy load (F@H); so did my Pentium M 1.86 (overclocked to 2.2ghz) when running CPU-Tests on 3D Mark.

I've also heard cases of Merom mobile CPUs buzzing when in super low frequency mode (mine buzzes too, but it is a lot more silent than the spinning of the 5400rpm HDD, quite unhearable); very weird...

All electrical components make noise, that's why it's never truly silent a room that has electrical equipment (like mine

) however when it gets to an audible/annoying level there tends to be a problem.

nothing wrong with my fan.. working fine.. dunno why it does that.. in crysis, with the EA intro, it goes up to 3000+ FPS and it does that buzzing noise..
