my phenom II 720 be results

well got a new scythe katanaIII cooler, my temps seemed to hover around 30 c with the stock amd cooler. now @ 24 idle overclocked to 3.5 ghz w/ a 17.5 x multiplier. everytime i push it to 18x multi i get reboots.....any advice?

have you tried bumping vcore with the 18x multi?

i mean 3.5 is good i hope...i just thought i could go higher since my temps seem pretty low.

if you are using overdrive to oc, not up the vcore as it will became unstable very easily. do it through bios. Still, 3.5 is pretty good for stock vcore.

raise it in small amounts until you find a stable setting. I have seen them go quite high in the Vcore.

Dude you can go over 1.4v easily if temps allow. Just go one notch at a time

1.5V is max allowed for the Phenom II according to AMD. Meaning- it won't void warranty if you push it to 1.5V @ stock clocks... lol.
Pretty good tbh though. I only stick to 3,402Mhz @ 1.325V on my X4.

bumped it .025 volts and upped the multi to 18 ...now @3616mhz and 23.5 c @ idle.............

Nice, just try to stay under 1.5v and no more than 55 degrees Celsius. Do that and you'll be fine.

added .075 volts and went to a 19 multi...no dice... temps went up 10 *c..if i was abit better at this i think i could get it to work...but im not gonna push it.

i havent done any "real" testing..i do know that while encoding avi to dvd video my temps do not change..and after gaming (res evil 5 and cod4 ) temps never exceed 30 c*
what program should i test with?

To get completely stable I run my x3 720be 3.6 @ 1.47 for linpack stable.

in case you guys don't know. linpack and linx is the same thing, LinX is just s simpler version of it.

That's good. Stay under 55 degrees. That means you can juice it up a bit more and clock higher
