I'd really, really suggest trying a different cable. I heard if you go to a hotel and tell them you forgot your phone charger, they'll pull out a box and have you pick out which one is "yours". I don't think I'd recommend actually trying that though.

Buy the right charger and cable for your phone . They always work better than the knockoff ones.
It will charge efficiently and it wont catch fire.
Alternatively buy a dodgy charger and with any luck, and for the sake of all of us, hopefully your phone will BURN.
