I think it's pretty low right?

Why is it x8 not x16?

Does your motherboard have two x16 slots? A lot of boards that have two will drop to x8/x8 if there is anything in the second slot.

If the info i see is right the board has 2 PCI-e slots and as FordGT90 says the board will drop to 8x if something is in the second slot.

Some motherboard will also only run the second slot at 8x anyway so make sure your gpu is in the top PCI-e slot.

Yep I have two x16 slots. But I didn't put anything in the other one

How can I know which one is the top one? Or I just need to try the other pci-e slot?

Yes. Now it is x16. But my computer boot failed twice,
And I find out the card a blocked the PCI-E x4 slot, which I used to a sata3 card.

So the new question is. Should I keep the 480 in the top x16 slot or back it to x8 slot?

i cant imagine it will effect Real life performance in x8 mode. I had a similar issue with an older Z68 motherboard, and a GTX970/or a 7970LCS. the mobo wouldnt run any GPU of PCI3.0 gen in the Top x16 slot for some reason, so i had to switch it to the lower slot, and i saw no performance issues after making the switch...it bothered me for some reason, but it was all in my head. i dont know if these newer cards are the same tho. theres a lot of bandwidth in those PCI slots...it comes down to whether or not the GPU is saturating the x8 slot, or if it is enough to handle it without reaching its perf cap

I could be wrong but it looks like your board has a PCI-e 4x slot aswell, any chance you can use that for your sata3 card? or does the GPU block it?

So the 3dmark score is a right score for the 480? If it is I have no reason take care about the lower slot

Looking at just the GPU scores in 3dmark yours is about right to be fair when i compair it to mine.

Your GPU score = 3947
Mine = 4156

Your overall score is lower due to your cpu i believe.

it shows as "better than 25% of all other similar results" i cant speak for that specific card, as i dont own one, but synthetic scores are effected by many things....id base the decision on real life performance, like if the GPU runs games properly, or if it is hindered more than is normal for its like counterparts

not to create other issues, but it could be that p55 CPU thats holding it back, but IMO its still a capable CPU .

try a different benchmark and see if it gives a common score for Your GPU....something like This here..cant hurt to get a different result to see how your system stacks up

You need to remember TimeSpy is CPU heavy, the i5 is holding back your score not the GPU.

Thanks you guys. Anyway, I will run a new test in x16 slot. If it won't have big difference I think I can keep my GPU in the second slot and put my sata3 card in the x4 slot
I will post the result tomorrow morning because it's am 12:25 my time - -

You need to remember TimeSpy is CPU heavy, the i5 is holding back your score not the GPU.
Can I change it? I use the free version

Well unless you overclock no, but you can get i7\s for your motherboard cheap which will help in some games that use more than 4 threads.

I wouldn't bother upgrading the CPU on that ,the whole point of still running that older i5 is that it's somewhat capable still and it's cheaper than upgrading but if you're going to upgrade I recommend you actually upgrade to a new chipset instead of investing in old technology unless you can get an i7 for dirt cheap but anything over 50 bucks I'd say don't bother . But that's just my opinion

Four more threads isn't going to really make a difference in gaming to justify a switch

I run a test just now. It almost same.
But my PC was unstable. It died twice after I change my GPU to x16 slot. The screen just stop and I can't do anything, Until I reset my pc.
I don't know why but I think I'd better put my GPU back to x8 slot and it also helped for the stat3 card in x4
