Cyan, the indie studio that created the beloved classic, has reimagined Myst.

Built from the ground up to play both in VR as well as traditional flatscreen displays, Myst is teeming with new art, new sound, re-imagined interactions,
and even optional puzzle randomization. Finally... the highly anticipated Myst 2D/VR experience has arrived!

Now you can explore the Ages of Myst in a new dimension!

BUILT FOR BOTH VR AND 2D DISPLAYS

Designed and built from the ground up in Unreal Engine, this newly-reimagined version of Myst includes fresh takes on the visuals in every area in the game. With both VR and 2D play experiences in mind, this definitive, modern edition of Myst will immerse you in the world in a way that has never been possible before.

The VR experience includes both Free Roam and Teleport modes, and supports Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Rift S, and Quest via Oculus Link.

Additionally, Myst includes many “comfort level” features for both new and experienced VR users, including the option to enable smooth or snap turning, quick travel up stairs and ladders, vertical height quantization, and more!

NEW AND REQUESTED FEATURES

For the first time in Myst’s history, enjoy the game in many different languages through localized UI, including dialogue and gameplay-context subtitles.
- A variety of accessibility options to assist in gameplay.
- Tired of taking notes? Now you can take photo captures in-game to keep track of what you’ve encountered!
- A large number of graphics options to choose from, such as supersampling options and Ray Tracing to bring the best Myst experience out of the hardware you have.

Release date: 26 August, 2021

I remember being completely engrossed in Myst when it first came out. Some of those puzzles were real head scratchers.
Then I later discovered Lara Croft and never finished the game.

Looking forward to it. Yeah I'll be buying it on GOG too (if they don't change the game too much). And it looks like after 3x remakes (Myst -> Myst Masterpiece -> RealMyst -> RealMyst Masterpiece), they've finally added subtitles which even the 2014 version didn't have.

Awesome. This is one of the handful of games I have truly beat. I have the sequels, but actually never played Riven. Def gonna get it for my son. Thanks for posting. I found this thread from the VR AR section. As I dont have a hmd, flat it is.

Yes, and very good fan reception, too! Someone also created a mod to "fix" the major gripe (not a bug, but fan complaint about CGI vs live action). I haven't had the time to get it going, but it is going to be the next game I get (back) into.

Obduction certainly had me enchanted for quite some hours.

But this is Myst. Now that's something that just screams for improved graphics.

And it seems to be released... just read the date proper lol. But... D2 Res is also out...

Then I later discovered Lara Croft and never finished the game.

Maybe this time you'll be able to see your own breast when you walk around, I'm sure modders can provide some in-game Lara Croft goodness for you.

Double win!

The thing that bothers me the most is that Myst already got 3 or 4 remakes/remasters plus a bunch of platform-specific re-releases, and either Riven or Exile - none. Those are two of my favorites. I actually started my journey with Exile back when it came out.

they should give this to previous owners at a good discounted rate imo. i have had like a few different myst iterations in my steam library for a long time, but never could get them to launch properly on the latest gear/OS so never got to experience it. i feel i should at least get a 50% discount code in the steam store for owning the other myst titles i never got to play lol
