I don't think Vega20 will have any hardware level components like the RTcores.

It's a video from redtechgaming on yt. I wrote my personal opinion on it

Rather than post a link to an external site, it would be better to summarize your opinions on this forum, to engage discussion here. Otherwise, I, and I am sure, many other TPU members won't bother with your link. It's effectively fishing for hits, using another sites hosting, which is, I think, against posting rules.

Yeah but given how Radeon VII did, I dunno. I mean it's only available in the us via Newegg at the MSRP. Everywhere else it's overpriced af. Wth did they have to use hbm2. GDDR6 is just fine

What do you mean? RV7 is a success. It was intended to be a die shrink update to Vega and it is. Performance is good. My guess is that Navi will be AMD's "Ryzen" in the GPU arena and will kick ass just as much.

Plenty of 2080ti's available, probably because who in their right mind pays $1.2k for a gpu... :kookoo:

Most DX12 capable GPUs can do ray tracing. The real question is the speed: 60 frame per second is different from 60 second per frame. Without massive overhaul of GCN to some new design, i don’t think Navi can do “playable” ray tracing.

Fake ray tracing like Crytek’s demo they yeah sure. Every card can do pre-baked reflection only ray tracing.

Navi is gonna be another meh

Don't care for ray tracing, reflections look over-realistic to the point it's fake, shadows and illumination aren't game changers.
I want as much performance for as little price as possible. Something like 2080 performance for $400 would be welcomed.

Navi is still on GCN. Apparently modified for gaming, but GCN nonetheless. Arcturus could hopefully be GPU Zen as that uArch will be brand new.

The reason why devs are overdoing reflections is because it's actually lighter on performance. The performance hit is smallest for non-reflective and fully-reflective surfaces. "Rough" surfaces are more expensive

AMD's pockets are not full of money, especially for the GPU market, to consider a possibility to rush to offer very specific hardware raytracing capabilities. Considering that Nvidia just tried to create a market for hardware accelerated raytracing, in all wrong ways possible, I would expect AMD to not rush, but offer any type of specific hardware accelerated raytracing for games in the second half of 2020, best case scenario. For now we might get a software solution or something. I am also hoping to see the integrated GPU in the APUs to be used in parallel with a discrete AMD GPU. An integrated GPU, or a second AMD card, doing all the raytracing calculations while the primary doing the rest of the graphics would be more than great news.

yet that is exactly what cryteck shown off. in another thread there were screen shots of bullets reflected from the water and reflection was rough and blury exactly as it is in real life when reflection surface is not flat and light is low.
if cryteck demo is realtime rendered on obsolate vega 56 the achievment is very very impressive and way better implementation of RT then nvidia's (way closer to reality with much less gpu resources used). even better is that it is done on game enginve lvl and if cryteck manage to make it available for devs as tool set in cryengine development of games with RT should be much easier and adoption will be much faster.

Just checked and need to clarify the 2080 cards, NOT the 2080 ti's can be found for that price.

ATM there are only four that's not a refurb that are $699 (At Newegg), the majority of these being higher in price. All variants of the Radeon VII regardless of it's branding such as ASRock, Asus, MSI, ect can all be found for $699 or less aside from the "Shady" vendors Newegg has on their site too.

I bet navi won't have hw rt acceleration.and they don't need it,it'll go against 1660ti.
It'll offer a new, exciting feature called async compute

Look closer. That reflected bullet casing is entirely wrong.

OP (or to be precise, the YT "leak") is talking about Navi 20. You are talking about Navi 10.

GPU Ray Tracing in games is akin to the 1660 joke.

reflected image is wrong. how image should be reflaced from non flat water surface is right
Can't be right and wrong at the same time.
If it looks absolutely wrong then it isn't right.

Diameters of end case concentric circles do not match at all. A reflection would maintain such properties, while distorting them. The reflection is therefore not relevant. It looks like a bullet casing has been converted into the bottom of a drinks can. That's voodoo.
