There is a video from Gear Seekers doing a review of the 5600XT. He showed benchmarks of crossfire scores in Rise of the Tomb Raider. I have been scouring the net looking for confirmation of this and found an article (at work so can't post the link) that stated AMD was contemplating allowing crossfire on Navi cards. Could it be true is it true. If possible could TPU do an investigation to the validity of this information?

I dont think its as much as developers not doing CF or SLI in games, but card manufactures having some say in not being able to do it and grease the squeaky wheel with game developers making sure their game(s) they produce doesnt support it, or well, worse is some cases. My theory in this is as an example when I was running 2 GTX 1070's in sli. If you do some youtube searches, with 2 GTX1070's ($400 2x$200) in SLi vs a RTX 2080 ($800+ card alone) out performed it in games that supports SLI or CF. Now they dont want you to go buy a cheaper card that you already own and get the same or better performance that a $800+ card they are trying to sell and lose money, so how do you do that, make sure games dont support it, forcing you to have to buy a new card if you need more performance, screwing the little guy that doesnt have $800+ in their pockets burning a hole ;)

From the outset that seems true but the fact is multi-GPU is very problematic.

It's not plug and play.

GPU makers have to create, maintain update sli/crossfire profiles for each and every game. That's why only popular AAA games have profiles usually.

Then there's timing/frametime issue. Iirc after Nvidia released FCAT and shouted their frame time superiority, multi-gpu frame time issues became apparent.

Multi GPU has finally become a dead end and should not really be considered in today's gaming world. It's only ever gonna be reliable in benchmarks, game support is almost nil at this point so you are literally spending your time trying to find workarounds that may or may not work and end up in a single card scenario most of the time
