need a new mouse + mousepad

I need a new mouse, and mousepad, can anyone suggest anything

right now I have a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...4195&Tpk=Logitech+(931451)+LX5+Cordless+Mouse

and a mousepad with a gel pad on it.

my problem is that when I play FPS games, this mouse sucks for grip, and it doesn't have a natural grip position on it (just look at it you'll knwo what I mean). The gel pad just messes up my aim

this is what I would like to get, but the price tag of $110 for both is a bit much

I prefer wired. I used my friends G7 and although its amazing, it cut out once in about a 5 hour span... that one time was enough for me to go with wired. I just prefer a solid connection without any chance of interference.

I have a G5 as mentioned and So far I havent had any complaints, and my CSS KPD(kill per death) ration has gone up 2

Its personal preference. There is no difference with the mouse itself.

I would go wired but mainly because i have a mate who has a wireless and occasionally it cuts out wich is bad when your gaming. I have a g5 mouse wich is brilliant as for mousepad i got a really cheap one wich is just fine.

I have to agree with the rest here, G5. The best mouse ever made by Logitech.

As for the mousepad, I just use a Corepad Eyepad XXL. But I guess it's your preference as to what you're looking for in a mouse pad.

Forget the revo's, there ok...but not great.

The g7 is a wireless version of the g5. So if you want wireless, go g7. The mx518 is optical, while the g5 is laser. Personally, i cannot tell the difference. Only big thing i hear about there difference is that optical doesn't work on all surfaces, but this is pointless because you have a mouse pad. The mx518 has two buttons near your thumb, which is better than the g5 having one on each side.

Pros: its freaking huge, i have my mouse, keyboard, and monitor (LCD) sitting on it, with tons of room to spare. work every penny!
Cons: maby a little bigger, so i could fit my USB can cooler on it also.
Other Thoughts: got it for christmas, works like a charm, as it should. super soft!


Pros: Huge - cheap - soft & smooth surface - works perfectly with my Razer Copperhead or G5 mice - enough room for my G15 to sit on this pad with tons of mousing space to spare
Cons: only one corner is round, which isn't really bad, but weird if that kind of thing bothers you
Other Thoughts: If you sit at your desk for 12+ hrs a day like I do (between work and personal use) then this is a must have! Your entire forearms can rest on this pad, keeping your skin from sticking to the table and allowing your arms to move freely as you "explore the space" of this gigantic pad


Pros: So dang huge it was actually bigger than my desk...so I got a new desk too It's super smooth and doesn't seems like it'll ever wear out.
Cons: Might be too big for your desk.
Other Thoughts: You could use it for a floor mat in your car.



btw which kind of mouse pad is better, cloth or plastic, from your experiences?

i personally like plastic, i'm just kinda used to them, my friend swears by cloth, plastic for me last longer, where as the cloth like to peel off at the corners alot

i know that the steelseries are great pads(from expereince) the top one seems like a good buy, i would be happy with either one

ahh stupid, I was waiting for a reply, and I thought editing my post would make it refresh,

I took out all of the 17" mouepads cause that is just way too big, its huge

I like something in the middle of cloth, and plastic. not too glidey like plastic, and less friction than cloth

those are my top two of the ones you have, they are both solid products and each company has an excellent reputation for quality the steel series is a bit more clothy but has a nice plastic coating, ive never used the razer's pad but this guy at the last lan i went to had one and he absolutly loved it either way you cant go wrong

they all have good reviews, so ill just buy the one that feels nicest at the store, or whichever one is in stock, unless someone knows that one of these is bad
