Need a RTS game...

hi all
i need a RTS game to pass out my time.it should be similar to age of empires but with better graphics and should have a low learning curve.
dont recommend total war games as i got empire total war but couldnt realy get into it.
like in age of empires we used to collect stone gold etc ,the game should have some elemets like that

Have you tried Rise of Nations/Legends? Pretty good games imo, even if they're not exactly new.

played warcraft 3 it was awsm.no interest in starcraft.
i need games that resembles AOE in which there are humans not aliens
rise of nations looks good
would try it(does it have a demo)

warhammer 40k : Dawn of War 1 and 2 (1 especially and its expansions)
LOTR Battle for Middle-Earth 2
World in Conflict ..
Settlers (I played the 7th ... dont know whether its RTS.. but its abt building a city + collecting resources ... loved it)

Get Warcraft III. Is easy to learn to play, it's still supported, it has a community big as... something very big and you can download custom maps with differents styles of play (DotA & LoaP are my favorites)
