I've decided to shed out £60+ on a new set of headphones to treat myself for christmas. I would just like a second opinion on these headphones http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-000-RC&tool=3

I'm tired of spending too much money on "premium" headsets that will only last for four months! Any feedback or recommendations are welcome. Thanks :)

If your headsets only last 4 months, why dont you RMA it. The warranty on these things are typically 1-3 years!

I didn't keep the boxes or reciepts! :( I'm so stupid, but I'll definitely keep them this time round! ;)

So you are gunning for headsets then? Imho they tend to break easier than headphones, maybe its because of the mic and more parts count than a headphone. One thing you must be sure of first is whether you really need 5.1. I realize that you might want them for gaming or watching movies, but sometimes they are a hassle. (needs drivers etc) Stereo headphones are pretty good nowadays, for me its enough. Now for you it might be another matter altogether. Must not forget too that the sound quality are (in most cases) better on them, so thats another factor to consider. (especially when listening to music) I used a JVC HA-RX700 a couple of months ago and I have to say for the price it was excellent. It was recommended to me be a couple of members here. Can't say they were wrong. Since you are tired of premium, why not try to scale back a lil and have a go at them? I recently tested an Audiotechnica M50, that was a beast but its a bit pricey. Anyways, was just my $.02

Edit : just looking at the review page, saw Kieran (there's a Tpu member with that name, something tells me its the same person, why not shoot him a pm and ask him what he thinks of the Kave)

Hmmmm you do have a point. But i am leaning towards a headset since i do a lot of online gaming with friends. My last two pairs of headsets were the Medusa 5.1s and those 7.1 Logitech ones. Having the surround sound was great for gaming so i kinda want to get another surround sound set :)
