Personally for me, after learning that racing vs AI is just a wasted rubberbanding fake achievement.

I hope the driving physics is good in this one , something like NFS SHIFT 2.

I think people hated the Shift series tbh. It was too hardcore for the casual crowd but too arcady and not to mention floaty/boat car physics (that some say succeeded to SMS's latter games Project CARS) for the sim crowd.

I can't even remember the name but I want a Need for Speed OPen world with proper cop chases For me that was the best thing about the franchise. Especially when they introed the helicopter.

It was. They try to make it a separate premium brand like the Lexus to the Toyota. The first car, Polestar 1 is a 600 horsepower hybrid luxury car.

Need for Speed Underground 3 or one of the older remastered would sell like hot cakes, but EA does not listen.

A remaster of the 2005's Most Wanted would be hella great

I wonder, when EA will understand, that a racing game does not need story, characters etc... What it needs is nice, interesting tracks, lots of cars to choose from and a good (but still arcade) driving physics.

I loved "Most Wanted", which had a story a characters. But I have to admit it was pretty generic and only a reason to race.

For me NFS ended after Hot Pursuit 2 (from 2002). Even that one was already bad with no steering wheel support - no FF and the input lag as huge as 1s or more when using a wheel, so I had to stick to the keyboard. However it still had the spirit of "older brothers", so the game was kinda fun. Then Underground came and...uh...

Speak for yourself. I enjoy story and characters in NFS2015 very much, it's a perfect complement to original Underground where all characters are faceless. NFS is one of very few good arcade racers nowadays when other franchises aim for realistic simulation. I used to like DiRT 1-3 because they are like 30% arcade, but now Codemaster goes all out simulation with DiRT Rally I simply can't enjoy it, since I'm a casual driver with no steering wheel. NFS is pretty much the only game I can sit back and enjoy arcade feel, Fast & Furious like story and cool characters without overthinking what camshaft I should install.

Polestar is Volvo's separate brand for premium electric cars only. Polestar 1 costs something like 150 000 EUR. Now there is Polestar 2, but I don't the price. It's a like a spin off of Volvo I don't typically see this car as emblem for racing, but hey it generates 600 HP.

On topic, I also disagree, that racing game doesn't need a story. I enjoy the more "un-realistic" handling in racing games. Where you can enter on 5th in the corners and use the roadside protection? (don't how it's called) to take the turn.

I also vote for HD remake of Super Spy Hunter with the original sounds and OST. The OST is SO good. Rollcage already got a remake with GRIP.

I preordered Mirror's Edge Catalyst when it was coming out, and I still love that game hella lot. In fact that's the only game I've ever preordered

The game is an oldie, i think it came out in 2001.

NFS Porsche Unlimited - fabulous - loved that game at the time - and was the reason I bought a 911. Don't have it anymore, but I do wish NFS PU was updated. Doesnt need the "newest cars" but just updated in terms of tracks, graphics, online.

That game was the reason I almost bought a 968. The week I was going to buy it, the owner wrecked it. But looking back, I'm happy I didnt buy it. Every 968 owner I have talked too say the car is a money pit, much more than a 911. 15 years later I bought another money pit, a sailboat. Its a happy money pit.

Yeah that too. I discovered that playing well almost always made the last lap near impossible. Or I could trail the AI and then blow them away the final lap every time.

This is why I always preferred Colin McRae Rally series to all other racing games. You race a clock, the various times for each track set by human beings (with actual ghost cars to follow if you unlock that feature)

Whoever invented rubberband AI for racing games deserves a special hell, but for some asinine reason pretty much every single racing game since has copied it
