need for speed most wanted lags

hi i have p4 3.6 1giga of ram , x700 picexpreess

i did notice some lags in the same place of the tracks, like 1 or 1/2 second
i try the max quality and the min quality , but nothing
the drivers are update --omega and the audio drivers are update

what can i do?

Increasing chache size helped me, but i didnt get rid of the freezes

after a while my game freezes and locks the entire OS, power button is the only way out!
Really annoying!! tried different sound drivers and video drivers cat 5.10 and cat 5.11
will try cat 5.4 next.

In the advanced video options, turn off vsync.

I got the same problem mate, the only way out for me is by pressing the windows key, going to the desktop then clicking on the game again.
