Need help & advice selecting a new CPU fan , and here are the one's I can afford right now.
(System is: ASUS K8N-E Deluxe Socket 754 , AMD Athlon 64 3000+ w. stock cooler)
Before I show the links/pics , I just want to say I intend to overclock the system...

Oh, and some site's are in swedish. Need a translation or anything feel free to ask and I shall translate!

Fan2 : http://www.gtek.net/index.php?mode=item&id=1568&session=c363ef9f23ae4e4a39d1a89a5eaf7257 (Not certain this will fit my mobo)

Fan3 : http://www.kylning.com/product_info.php/products_id/1408 (Perhaps it's too "high"?)

Fan4 : http://www.datorbutiken.com/se/default.aspx?Product=ZTBTF80

Fan5 : http://www.datorbutiken.com/se/default.aspx?Product=SILSST-NT06L (might not fit due to the memory banks to close to CPU)

#3, if that doesn't fit #5. But deffinitely go for #3!:D

I agree with Erocker
Number 3 or Number 5

i would fit an artic freezer pro.. but i am just a tight git who hates spending more than he has to..

Yeah, I think the freezer pro is probably the best and cheapest cooler for any average overclocker. Unless you can afford a super good motherboard to overclock with, the freezer pro will cool more than enough (for how high you can O/C on an average motherboard.) My friend uses is on an Athlon X2 5200+, at a meager 2.8Ghz it never gets above 40c on load.

I'm not sure if the freezer pro will fit the 754 mobo you speak of....

Another option is: For what you will spend on an extravagant cooler, you might as well just pay a little bit more and upgrade to AM2 or AM2+, the 770 chipsets are pretty reasonably priced. This is my first biostar motherboard (see specs) and it has a lot of o/c options, the 770 chipset version of my board is 80 bucks. And you can get a cheapo X2 cpu to hold you off for a year or so... But then after all that is said and done, you're still left with stock cooling, thats where the freezer pro comes into play. I spend more at BURGER KING in one sitting than the price of the Freezer Pro--$15 bucks shipped. Just pretend you're ordering a pizza. :P

Same for me. But since I have a built in soundcard in my mobo, why not sell the PCI one that I have and buy a better cpu cooler? Btw, do you have any link or a pic of the arctic freezer pro? Can't find it in any of the hardware sites here in sweden :(

Damn that one was cheap! I'll go and take a look and see if it compatible with my mobo right away.
