Need Help Buying an Ethernet Card

I need to buy a new ethernet card since my Asus P6T's onboard one has issues with Windows 7. My connection will drop while gaming sometimes and it says 'Default gateway not found'. Anyway, I'm wondering if I should just get a cheap plain network card or if there is anything else worth getting. I have a good Fios connection, 45mbps download and 35 upload if that matters. I recall reading about some card that had it's own RAM or something built onto it, another that claimed to lower pings for gamers. Are any of these worth it or really do anything?

There are a few "Gaming/High Performance" network cards that have a small amount of ram and their own little processor, but from most reviews I've seen, the actual gain/advantage of them is practically non existent. Honestly, I would just go with a cheap one, when I needed a few wifi cards, the base level Best Buy in house cards were the best for what I did.

What are the cards that have dual RJ45 ports for? I've seen them listed on newegg was curious if they bring any performance increases for gamers.

All the intel cards get good reviews.

most people say a nic is a nic and they are pretty much right but I would get an intel card

oh and to answer your question for dual nics.
it's for teaming them together (has no affect really) or if you wanted to use the second nic to share the internet.
