Ok, then we agree. It is 100% okay to purchase windows 10 keys for less than retail
I never, NOT ONCE, EVER said anything of the sort. I do NOT think it is okay to buy keys at a price that is too good to be true, or from sellers who are not authorized to sell such products. Period.

That's totally legit and a loophole that MS still hasn't closed yet. Sssh!
And they're not going to. They want to leave it open to encourage everyone to move forward. This is not more or less dishonest/shady than buying a Key from a key site.

WOW!!!!! You got a problem dude! You seem to like to twist whatever you hear into what you only want to hear! That is sad.
No, he was being a smart-alec. Come on Bill, lets be chill.

That's not it.

How is MS going to close it? Contrary to what some, including many here, sadly want to believe and worse, want everyone else to believe, Microsoft is NOT spying on the more than 1.6 Billion Windows users, and the more than 900 million Windows 10 users. They do NOT know where or how each of us obtained out licenses. They can only know if a key is legit or not.

What MS wants, and what I believe to be the correct approach, is for everyone to let their conscience be their guide. People know if something "sounds" right or not. Most people know what is right and what is wrong. Microsoft is hoping most people do too. And fortunately, most people do.

And sadly, Microsoft knows too, if people feel ripped off, they will gripe about it. And right or wrong, that WILL go viral as "bad" publicity for Microsoft - especially once wannabe journalists and bloggers seeking attention run with it. And Microsoft wants to avoid that too. For that reason, Microsoft tends to let those folks seeking re-activation be re-activated - just to avoid that potential bad publicity - warranted or not.

That's not being a smart-alec. That is trying to rationalize what is clearly not right. How do we know that? Buy the simple expression of "M$" instead of MS or Microsoft. It is suggesting M$ is a "greedy" corporation and therefore, it is okay to buy software from unauthorized sources that are not legitimate retailers. Don't be fooled by the smoke, Lex. If Amazon, undeniably a greedy corporate giant, is selling Windows 10 for more than $100, then no way any one selling it for chump change is "legit". Even you can see the logic in that.

Edit comment-fixed typos.

The bottom line: If you want to buy a license key from one of the more reputable online sellers (like the ones that TechPowerUp endorses), then that's your right. Sure, you're taking a slight gamble this way. However, these sellers guarantee that the key will work, or they'll send you another one. And since I can buy 10 of these keys for the cost of one retail Windows 10 license, I'm not too concerned about that. If Microsoft invalidates the key, I'll just go buy another one. For the cost savings, I can do this for a l-o-n-g time.

Could this thread be closed please ? It turned into trash with all this arguing and no real answer of the main question. Thank you.

I'll tell you what is not "legit", folks turning a thread where people ask for help into an e-peen contest AKA "I'm knowledgeable than you" or "I'm always right" type behavior.

OP, you've been given plenty of advice and I believe they are sound so use them.
